Definition: The supernatural removal of faithful believers in Christ from the earth to be with the Lord in Heaven. At rapture, all true believers in Christ dead or alive- will be “caught up” to be with the Lord in Heaven just before God visits the earth with his wrath. It is the active uptake of or the swift removal of the bride; those who have made themselves ready. Those who have been purified in the blood of Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Christ’s return has been predicted both in the Old and New Testaments. Prophecy is the prediction about future occurrences. It is telling beforehand what is certain to happen. It can also be described as divine revelation, foreseeing what must surely happen. Thus, it to accept and believe the revealed truth in God’s word concerning Christ’s return. They must, therefore, beware of false prophets and teachers who cajole people to believe that Christ’s return is invalid. They are warned against “…ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ” (Jude 1:4).
Bible scholars observed that in the Old Testament alone, over 1,500 passages made reference to the coming of Christ. Also, in the New Testament, one out of every twenty-five verses directly refers to His second coming. Jesus Christ Himself mentioned His second coming twenty-nine times. In addition, there are over fifty exhortations to the believers in the New Testament to be ready for the return of Christ. Every time His first coming is mentioned once, His second coming is mentioned eight times.
The following facts also give credence to biblical claims that Christ will come again: One, The unity of the writers on the subject. Two, The infallibility of the Scriptures. Three, The teachings of Christ, the truth personified. Four, The fulfilment of virtually all prophecies about His return. Five, Biblical terms used in describing His return: “Hold fast till I come”, Behold I come quickly”, “Behold I come as a thief”, “Surely I come quickly”, “I will come again”.
THE MARK OF THE BEAST
“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their fore head: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast or the number of his name here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred three score and six” ( 666) (Revelation.13:16-18).
If you are on earth during the great tribulation, be sure to remember this: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE TAKE THE MARK OF THE BEAST. To do so would mean one would forfeit all possibility of salvation taking the mark of the beast is the unpardonable sin.
“if any man ,worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark in his forehead or in his hand , the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brine stone in the presence of the holy angel and his smoke ascended up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark or his name”. (Revelation. 14:9-11).
