Description
Hey Newish Parent! Given the fact that you have a child (or a few) I’m going to take a wild guess and say that you’ve got some aches and pains that you’ve most likely been avoiding dealing with in favor of conquering 1,000 other responsibilities before falling face-first into bed at night in utter exhaustion...fear not! Using my experience as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Dad of two daughters – I will be shedding some light on ways to reduce the typical stresses on the body that we all deal with while caring for our kids. Is it hard picking up your kid out of the crib, getting them into that middle carseat, or giving them a bath? You’re not alone. It turns out that caring for a squirmy 20lb kettlebell and carrying it around with you all day can be hard. I want to help prepare more parents for the physical demands of parenthood. You'll leave this course with a bunch of practical ideas and concepts that you can build into your daily life to help protect your body so you can keep kicking butt, because let's face it, as modern parents, we don't have time for injuries.
Who this course is for:
- Parents
- Grandparents
- Infant caregiver
- Nanny
- Preschool teacher
- Toddler Caregiver
Instructor
Jason has a passion for getting people out of pain and helping them stay out of pain so they can return to doing all of the activities they love to do. He studied anatomy at Harvard Medical School and holds a Doctorate in Physical therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. With extensive experience working in a variety of different styles of physical therapy clinics and rehabilitation hospitals, he has treated a wide variety of musculoskeletal disorders, including chronic back and neck pain, injuries to the hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, and elbows as well as helping people pre and post-surgical procedures including knee, hip, and shoulder replacements. He also specializes in working with neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, post-stroke as well as balance and vestibular disorders.
Jason is a firm believer that each individual has the power and capability to improve their own health and wellbeing if they choose to do so. He has seen consistently how great physical therapy puts the power of treatment into the patient’s hands so they aren’t reliant on their PT, but have the tools to manage their symptoms no matter where they are.
He also is trained in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment methodology which helps provide a framework to address patient issues in a more holistic manner, so that he can focus his treatment on the root cause of the issue as opposed to focusing on simply providing temporary relief.
When he’s not providing exceptional care, Jason is a devoted husband and father and is always looking for fun and creative ways to stay active with his 3-year-old daughter. He loves to spend time outdoors, play soccer, cycle, travel, SCUBA dive, cook and learn new things.
