Description

Why do we have to study mathematics?  This four part series has you look at some aspects of daily life that not only are mathematical but part of a series of 'harmonies'.  Very 'hands-on', as part of the process you will be invited to make beautiful geometric art, learning mathematically, artistically and experientially while making connections between both sides of your brain, and through your head, heart and hands!

So just what is Sacred Geometry?  An incredibly deep well of material that can't be answered quickly.  Best is to go find some classic piece of architecture, like a cathedral, capitol building; something more than a hundred years old.  Look at it from the outside, its balance and symmetry.  Go inside and look up at the spacious walls and the intricate nature of the roof.  Best is to listen to song and sound within it, and see the interplay of light.  Going inside is your first introduction to the topic.

In this class you will make drawings of complex geometry, and hopefully color them.  This of itself can be really fun, and meditative.  But more as you work through them you are seeing the interaction of basic numbers in a visual reference.

Further, we will look at mathematical processes we all learned in high-school and tried to forget as quickly as possible!  But using them, we will perform research, looking for patterns in the chaos and finding that there is incredible MIND involved here.

This is what makes Geometry Sacred.  Come and give it a try.  This IS the math you should have learned in school.  Real Math.
