Welcome to The Marketer's Guide to Smartphone Video!
You might not think of yourself as a video production master, but by the end of this course, you will be.
The reality is, you don't need to spend tens of thousands of dollars on camera gear and equipment just to make good marketing videos. You already have a pro camera right in your pocket, so why not put it to use? Smartphones are getting more and more advanced with each new iteration, and the camera technology is starting to get on-par with even pro-level DSLR or Cinema cameras.
This means there's nothing standing in your way to creating great marketing videos for your business. In this course, we’ll show you everything you need to know to shoot not just good, but great video with your smartphone.
And the best part? Everything you learn, you can put into real-world practice immediately. In fact, we encourage you to take the time between every segment to practice, and practice some more.
Contents and overview
You'll start the course off with learning some of the basic camera settings that are built into your smartphone. You'll learn how to master the Camera app on your phone, how to properly set focus and other techniques.
Then you'll get into how to capture great audio on your phone. Most smartphones nowadays have great built-in microphones, but there's a couple of rules to follow to ensure you maximize the quality, like how far you need to stand from your subject.
Next, you'll learn proper lighting techniques. You'll learn color temperature, how to create different moods or looks with different styles of lighting, and more. Lighting is extremely important topic in video production, so this section will equip you to be a lighting master so you can make your business videos look amazing.
Once you've filmed your footage on your smartphone, you'll then learn how to edit your video directly on your smartphone. We'll show you some of the more well-known editing apps out there and walk you through each one so you can start editing your own videos. No prior editing knowledge is needed! We'll show you everything you need to know.
After you've editing your first video, what do you do with it? In the next section, we'll show you how to get it off your phone and where to store it so you can start using it.
If you're unsure of what kind of video to start with, we'll break down a few of the most common types of video. We'll cover key characteristics of each one, why you would chose one over another, and more. You'll end this section with a plan to create more videos going forward.
Finally, in the last section of the course, we'll show you some smartphone gear and equipment you may consider investing in to make your videos look even better. These aren't "must-haves", but they can definitely take your quality up a couple notches if you're looking to up your game. We'll go over stabilization tools like tripods, smartphone mics, and more.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to create your own professional marketing videos that you can immediately start using to grow your business.
