Hi – I’m Skye McKenzie
And Welcome to “The Inner Compass. Finding Peace Within."
Who am I? Although I am a citizen of both the UK and Australia, I consider myself to be a citizen of the world as I have lived and worked in over ten countries.
I started my career in the advertising and publishing industries, working for some of the larger ad agencies, such as, Young & Rubicam & J Walter Thompson, and some smaller specialised agencies as well. I launched an inspirational magazine for women and for the past five years I have been travelling around the world whilst teaching English. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, I am a certified Life Coach and have my Certificate in Trauma Care.
I am also an avid reader and life studier on personal development & transformation.
I created this course because I believe there are too many people who, like me, have not been able to find peace and contentment in their lives. Too many people who are looking for peace in all the wrong places… careers, friends, relationships, even belonging to certain groups or organisations. However, lasting peace and happiness does not come from an external source. Lasting peace comes from within.
This course will teach you how to find peace. That peace that is already inside of us. The peace that we were created to know and have as we travel this earth. It will teach you that everyone can access it, wherever we are, whenever we want.
I look forward to having you on this journey with me. The journey to peace and freedom in your life.

We have been given an incredible promise. A promise that we will never lack anything we need if we live in a state of peace. What is this state of peace and how do we access it?

According to the World Health Organisation, by 2030 depression will account for the highest level of disability accorded any physical or mental disorder in the world. Anti-depressant drugs are now among the best-selling drugs in medical practice with a market of US$12 billion. But many are suffering, not from clinical depression, but circumstantial depression. This is not a sickness of the brain. It is a sickness of the heart. "People’s spirits are sick. They are living in resignation, hopelessness, and fear."
This lecture will highlight the difference between clinical and circumstantial depression and explain how we can overcome it.
Searching for peace outside of ourselves will always leave us disappointed. We must lay aside all hope of finding happiness and peace in situations, places, people or things and realise that the only way to truly be at peace, is to find it within ourselves.

The key to understanding our identity is having a sense of purpose. We are not what we do, however doing what we love makes us come alive and be who we truly are.
Dr Martin Seligman spent over 35 years researching happiness and how to find it. Through his research he aimed to see if he could measure different forms of happiness, classify them and possibly find causes for happiness. In this lecture we look at the 3 causes discovered by Seligman's research:
The Pleasant Life, where happiness is contingent upon a pleasurable experience,
The Good Life, where we find joy in our work known as "flow", and
the Meaningful Life, where we have found purpose.
I discuss another cause for happiness... The Magical Life, where all things are added unto us when we seek first the peace within.

What are triggers? How do they effect our lives and how can we overcome them?
In this lecture I describe a situation of a full-blown trigger; a time in my life when I encountered a situation and experienced the fear I had felt as a child, in my mid 40s.

As a man thinks… so is he. Our inmost thoughts will determine what we are and who we will become. If we want to change who we are and who we want to become, we must first change our thoughts. Thoughts and actions are interlinked. They can imprison us or set us free.
It is true we cannot directly choose our circumstances, but we can choose our thoughts and therefore our actions, and indirectly shape our circumstances.

There are certain letters in the English alphabet that are “voiced” and certain letters that are “unvoiced”. The voiced consonants carry a vibration, the unvoiced consonants do not. All words contain voiced consonants therefore all our words carry a vibration. Experience the vibration of our words in a simple, practical experiment.
Our words carry the power to change every difficult situation in our lives. Learn to trust the creative power of your words.

When we begin to think about the possibility of something new, something different ... we can create it. This is the wonderful transformative power of our choices.
Do we really have free-will? Or are many of our choices made subconsciously due to our past programming? According to Sam Helmstetter, we can lose “free-will” by our past programming and, as adults, continually make decisions and choices that are not right for us. It is possible to change our past programming and allow the free-will we have been given to take effect in our lives. But how do we do this? How do we over-ride the past programming?

Now is the time to live authentically, boldly, and vibrantly so you can experience greater fulfilment and connection in every area of your life. As you discover the coordinates of your inner compass, and align your life to them, you will feel more settled and certain about your decisions, and begin to love every day of your radiant, beautiful, wild life!
Each one of us has our own inner compass, our own blueprint, and it's only when we are living in perfect alignment with the coordinates of our inner compass that we can find joy and fulfilment in life. Is it possible for us to know these coordinates and realign the course of our lives to experience this life of peace and joy? I believe it is.
This course will give you access to the tools and information you need to find those coordinates for your life so that you can start living a life of peace and freedom.
