I have been a financial adviser since 1999 when I started as a trainee with American Express (now Ameriprise) Financial Advisors. After 5 years I felt there were too many conflicts of interests (mainly getting paid commissions) and left to start my own firm where I have worked ever since as a fee-only adviser.
