Description
The Scriptures reach the climactic moment in redemptive history when God brings about his rescue of human souls in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Jesus, the Son of God, takes on human flesh, dwells amongst us, lives the life we should have lived, dies the death that we deserve, and rises victorious over sin and death. He then sends his people to the ends of the earth declaring the good news that through Christ mankind can be restored to relationship with their Maker.
This course will help you see the glorious, miraculous, and historical rescue story in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
In this course, we will survey The Gospels and the book of Acts. In the Gospels, we are given four different portraits of the same Jesus. Each Gospel paints a unique picture of who Jesus is. There is both unity and diversity in the gospels. We will examine the structure of the book, discuss major themes, and see how each Gospel enlarges our vision of the person and work of Christ. We will then see how Jesus continues his mission of seeking and saving the lost as he fills his people with his Spirit and sends them throughout the world with the good news.
