Dont make this mistake that I did. What do you do for that client that really just wants a full body massage but when you ask them do they have any areas of pain or stiffness that need more attention they say that their lower back is sore. This could be a one off spa client on vacations, or you do massages on a beach or cruise ship or just someone that wants a great deep tissue massage for example and wants to relax. What do you do? By the way, this approach would also apply to someone mentioning a sore shoulder or stiff neck and shoulders.
Here is a very common type of client that you will see especially if you work in a spa, resort or hotel. The client that you can only see today and has lower back pain-you have a limited amount of time because you have a full book so you need to do as much as possible in a short amount of time. What do you do?
Here are various types of clients and scenarios that I have seen so many times over the years and a BRILLIANT way to increase your business!
The next client is maybe a new client that has been referred to come and see you because you fixed their friends back for example or they are one of your regular clients that suddenly has lower back pain. This client could also be one of those clients that comes in with very bad back pain, a lateral shift perhaps, maybe sciatica and said they picked up the soap from the shower (for example) and 'their back went out again'. What do you do?
Here is the best part! You have already learned the lower back assessment and treatment protocol so if the hip pain is coming for the lower back, you already know what to do. How do you know if it's coming for the lower back though? Here I provide you with some tips on what to look for
Some people will get better slower than others. The great news is that the vast majority of your clients will respond very quickly. The problem is, how do you know which are which? Here I explain.
Here we look at the hip assessment in a supine position and the large asymmetry that my son has
