You will learn what we are going to learn in this course.
You will learn some common mistakes or accidents so that you can be more careful about avoiding them. Also I will talk about another way of drawing lines, if you are not doing it you can give it a chance.
Practice your line skills and learn how to practice them. If you are a beginner you probably don't have the skills to draw nice lines yet and even if you are a professional artist, there is no harm to practice your line skills.
Learn measuring with eye and how to draw the reference. The reference and the drawing will be side by side.
Learn measuring with eye and how to draw the reference. The reference will be in front of us, so we need to convert the angles of lines in our brain.
What is a sketch? How and where to use it?
A fun exercise to improve our visual perception.
Drawing portraits is difficult because you can draw a bottle and make a lot of mistakes. However, the portraits have to resemble the person that we are drawing, so we can't make that much mistakes.
Learn how to understand what we draw. Improve your visual comprehension and spatial awareness.
What is gridding, how to use grids to help us draw.
Learn how to draw grids digitally in Photoshop.
This portrait is one of the final projects for the first part of the course. Let's draw it using grids.
This class will be an introduction to shading and in this class we will talk about some common mistakes about shading, so that you can be more careful about avoiding those mistakes. Also, we will learn about pencil grades.
We will learn how lights and shadows work, and how can we shade simple forms from imagination.
Just like the line practice class, we also need a shading practice class before we actually start learning about shading. If you are a beginner you probably don't have enough muscle contol to keep your pen pressure stable and fill shapes without overflowing them. So in this class we will practice our pen pressure contol, and filling shapes without overflowing.
In this class we will practice changing our pen pressure gradually and draw gradients. Also, we will learn about how to combine different pencil grades to get a wider range of shades.
We will learn about how to shade the reference that we are drawing.
In this class we will learn about how to shade with different materials such as charcoals, ballpoint pens and ink pens. And we will see some different shading techniques.
In this class we will learn about blending, and layer by layer shading which allows you to shade hyper realistic textures.
In this class we will draw a still life photograph that I took, and shade it, by doing that we will shade a lot of different textures with different darkness values. Marble, metal, porcelain, glass, fabric, candle, these are some of the textures that we will learn.
In this class we will try to shade something with white pencil on black paper, by doing that we will try to understand the new materials behaviour and shade accordingly. It's also nice to force our brain to think in a different way, more pen pressure in the light parts and less pen pressure in the dark parts.
This is a fun (or annoying) exersice that many artists do and reccomend to increase your creativity, change your artstyle or get rid of your habits. Some people even claim this will make you more intelligent. I don't think it makes you more intelligent, but I do think that this can be beneficial to keep your brain healthy. So why not trying it? There is no harm trying some fun exercises. What can we lose?
This portrait is something like a final project for drawing with reference section of the course. In this class we will shade this portrait that we drew using grids in one of the previous lessons.
I think this is the best point to learn about some theoretical part of art. In this class we will learn about elements and principles of art, color theory and composition.
In this class we will learn about 1 to 3 point perspectives and some useful techniques. Perspective is essential for drawing from imagination so I recommend paying attention to these classes.
In this class we will learn about 4 to 5 point perspectives, rotating objects in perspective and similarities between 3 and 4 point, 1 and 5 point perspectives.
Just like line and shading practices, this is a class to prepare us to draw from imagination. If you want to be able to draw anything from imagination, you need to be able to draw simple forms like cubes, pyramids, cylinders from any angle.
In this class we will learn about how to simplify and how to create complex forms. We can create any complex form using simple forms, and as you guess if you are able to do this, you can draw anything from any angle.
Not everything has a perfect geometry, there are some things that has organic, fluid forms or shapes. In this class we will draw organic forms and try to understand them in 3D by using lines and shading.
In this class we learn about "how to learn drawing something spesific from imagination". Usin these methods we can learn drawing anything. The next part of the course is the application of this class. In the next section we will start learning "how to draw humans" as an example.
In this class we will draw a lot of gesture drawings. To be able to draw humans from imagination, obviously the first thing you should do is drawing humans. I recommend you to draw whatever you want to learn hundreds of times in 10 to 20 minutes and after you start to understand it, try to draw it in faster times like 5 minutes, 2 minutes or even under 1 minute. Drawing slow and fast has their own benefits, so do both.
You should simplify whatever you are learning and practice drawing it with simple forms. This will let you feel its form in 3D and remember complex structures easier.
We will start learning the anatomy of upper body, in this class we will learn the important bones and the movement of scapula and ribcage. I think understanding this is really important because I remember to struggle to draw some poses before understanding the movement of these parts. After I understand it however, drawing those poses became easier.
In this class we will learn the muscles of upper body and their behaviours.
In this class we will draw a lot of examples to reinforce what we have learnt about upper body.
In this class we will learn the important bones of our lower body and learn the differences between a female and male pelvis.
In this class we will learn the muscles of lower body and their behaviours.
In this class we will draw a lot of examples to reinforce what we have learnt about lower body.
In this class we will learn the important bones of our arms, what are pronation and supination, and how they change the muscles.
In this class we will learn the muscles of arms and their behaviours.
In this class we will draw a lot of examples to reinforce what we have learnt about arms.
In this class we will learn about how important memorizing is, and how to use what we know to create something new and original.
In this class we will learn about how to use references to get inspirations, how to be more creative, how to design something original and how to combine multiple references.
In this class we will use everything that we have learnt about drawing from imagination, and we will draw some characters without any reference.
Thank you for enjoying and learning from my course! I hope this course helped you improving your drawing skills. Congratulations!
