Description

This course is everything you need for the English section of the ACT. It provides grammar lessons for the commonly tested grammar on the ACT, lessons on what stylistic concepts the ACT looks for and how to answer style questions, and various techniques for approaching structure questions. You will be able to follow along through video lectures, content quizzes, and downloadable handouts.

You will not need any previous experience with the ACT or have any ACT prep materials in hand to understand and follow along in this course; it is intended mainly for those at the beginning or those brand new to their ACT test prep (although anyone should be able to get useful techniques, strategies and practice from this course). The handouts are given in pdf form, so you may need a pdf reader for those items. Everything else is provided in the course: video lectures, sample questions, quizzes, etc. You will not need any additional materials. Just bring a mindset of learning a willingness to try new things: be open to new strategies and ideas about the test.

The course begins with a look at the overall structure of the English section, including some general strategies you can apply to any type of English question.

Then, you will get a look at grammar rules, style and structure concepts. You will be given an understanding of what grammar rules the ACT tests, the tone and style the ACT prioritizes, tricks to tackling structure questions, and also what types of answer the ACT considers correct for their test.

When you are finished with this course, you should be fully prepared for the English portion of the test, with an understanding of how to work through this section of the test efficiently and with little stress. Good luck!
