The Art of Herbal Gardening will reveal how to design and maintain an herb garden.

Each herb is unique in its growing habits and natural healing powers. This course will have basic needs and requirements for all herbs to survive and produce. Lavender, rose geranium, the rose, lemongrass, lemon verbena, rosemary, peppermint, sage and basil  are spotlighted with their varied needs, benefits and uses in the home, on the body and in the garden.

We will touch upon how herbs are processed to produce essential oils and floral waters through steam distillation.

I am an aromatherapist who started my life's work studying herbs in the 1980''s. "Square Foot Gardening" with raised plots was emerging as the best way to bring fresh produce into our homes.  I became intrigued. I started with community gardens moving on to a small back yard  garden, now sustaining twelve raised plots with vegetables, herbs and fruits that I bring to my table every day.

My goal is to educate and share my love of nature working with the earth recognizing how herbs and vegetables can contribute to my extended family's well-being. Photography is my way to show you the beauty of nature and how it can best serve us..

I will offer ideas and recipes collected over the years, using your harvested herbs for culinary, home, body and medicinal uses. Thank you for your interest in joining me, and discover how The Art of Herbal Gardening can enhance your appreciation of mother nature’s offerings.
