Transport for London expects drivers to drive safely, legally, and responsibly at all times.
Core Rule (Very Important)
Follow the Highway Code and avoid dangerous driving.

Distracted driving
Dangerous manoeuvres
Safe Speed
Drive within the speed limit
Adjust speed for weather, traffic, and road conditions
Faster driving increases risk and causes more severe injuries.
Safe Driving Behaviour
Be careful at junctions
Watch cyclists and motorcyclists
Overtake safely
Careless driving is a serious offence.
Concentration (Very Tested)
No mobile phone use while driving
No distractions (music, passengers, devices)
If needed, stop in a safe place and turn off the engine
Using a handheld phone while driving is illegal, even in traffic.
Alcohol, Drugs & Medicine
Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Check with a doctor if medication affects driving ability
Seatbelts & Passengers
All adults must wear seatbelts
Driver must ensure children are properly secured

Children under 14 are the driver’s responsibility
