Intro
“In this lecture, we’ll learn about the concept of a Customer in Temenos T24.
In core banking, a Customer is any individual or organisation that holds a relationship with the bank, such as an account, loan, or deposit.”
1. Importance of a Customer Record
“Before a customer can open an account or perform any transactions, their details must first be captured in T24.
This is done through the Customer Input screen (STDCIF version).”
2. Capturing Customer Details
“In the Customer Input screen, we enter essential information such as:
Customer Name
Date of Birth or Incorporation Date (for companies)
Address and Contact Information
National ID or Passport Number
KYC details depending on the bank’s requirements
This data creates a Customer Record in T24.”
3. Unique Customer ID
“Once the details are validated and committed, T24 generates a unique Customer ID.
This ID becomes the reference point for all future transactions — whether it’s opening an account, applying for a loan, or making a transfer.”
4. Types of Customers
“In T24, Customers can be individuals, corporates, or special types such as joint customers.
Different product offerings may be linked depending on the customer category.”
1. What is an Account in T24?
“An account in T24 is a unique record that stores details about the type of product the customer is using, such as savings, checking, fixed deposit, or loan.
Every account is linked to a Customer ID, which means you cannot create an account without first creating a customer.”
2. Key Details in Account Setup
“When opening an account in Model Bank, you typically need to capture details such as:
Customer ID (to link the account to the right customer)
Product and Currency (for example: savings account in INR or USD)
Account Officer (the staff managing the account)
Limits, terms, or interest details (depending on the product type).”
3. Using Versions to Open Accounts
“In Model Bank, account creation is usually done using the Account Input version (for example: STDCUSAC or related versions depending on configuration).
Here, you input the required details, validate the data, and then commit it to generate a unique Account Number.”
