Get Ready for the Next Battle!
Hi, and welcome to the one and only Tekken course!
First of all, I'm a longtime Tekken player, starting Tekken 2 back in 1996! My gamer tag since my serious days back in the mid-2000s was Rising Uppercut, but I'm mostly going by the tag Rising and the moment and I'm looking forward be your Tekken course tutor and coach through the lessons in this course.
For many years I have been professionally been coaching and helping players in Tekken 7. Meaning with this course, you'll get the experience from someone who has been teaching newcomers and pros the right Tekken knowledge for years. After having coached several 100 players in my lifetime I understood what players in most levels were looking for and therefore I put together this course in the order that would help you understand and become better to achieve the goals you are looking for in Tekken 7.
My focus on creating this course was to make sure no matter your starting point in this game the structure of the lessons will give a good all-around understanding of the game as it builds through every lecture. As recommended, make sure you complete each step before heading over to the next topic. Wanting to learn everything too fast is not going to give the expected results, take into caution that Tekken is built upon you to repeat the action over and over, just like a real martial artist would! Thats why we love and enjoy Tekken, as it is you that gets stronger-minded and not the character you control.
You might be skeptical and thinking: I know that Youtube offers a lot of Tekken tutorials so why sign up here? Even I have picked up some stuff there, but sadly in the long run the videos can be too long, they tend to lack focus on a specific thing you actually want to know and don't resonate well with most players or characters. Creators of the youtube videos don't take into consideration to structure of their lessons to be set up from start to finish as this course will.
The great thing about this course is that it's easy to backtrack the lectures and it all works like a class consisting of shorter videos for each topic in Tekken 7, in this way your mind is more up for learning. And it's easy for you to adapt the skills over to your game as you go. There might be Lectures in the course you are familiar with already of course, but even so, it can be still healthy to repeat it as it might have another approach on the thing than you initially thought. Now, I'm not gonna hold you back anymore, good luck and see you in the next lesson!
In this course you'll be taken step by step through every foundation and element in the game in the right order, so you can learn the came in the right way. By the time you have completed this course, you will be able to perform and have the understanding of Tekken to the level of someone who has played this game for many years in a short amount of time!
PS. This course is still growing and developing and new content is being added along the way to feature more video lessons and sections further down the road, Right now the price of this course is fairly inexpensive and will probly go up in price by the year!
With 50+ character it can get quite overwhelming, let's take a look into what character you can start out with.
With a lot of possible game controllers, it can be confusing to know what type might fit your style of gaming. Perhaps you have experience with a type of controller from another fighter? Let's dive in and see what can work for you!
If you feel like, "What is Legend?" then stick around and check this video out, it will take you all the way down and make you a legend master in no time!
If you know you know it all, you can move on to the next lecture!
The frame data can be complicated to read or understand compared to your attacks and the opponents. Also, with all the content in the frame data box in Practice Mode. I'll explain how it all works so you finally can wrap your head around it!
(The Frame Data application in Practice is a DLC | So, in order to access it you need to purchase DLC 13 for the game.)
Moving around sounds too simple to need any explanation, well think again! The best player in the world depends on having the best movent to be able to punish and position themselves in for the right moment to strike. The moment is a never-ending practice and the main foundation of this game, and you can always improve this skill at any level.
While starting out it can be overwhelming with all the moves one character has, and it can be a headache to know what to do first and focus on, pretty much like the selection of characters!
In this video, you'll be looking for certain types of moves that are going to give you a solid base with your character. If 10 moves feel like too much to start off with then nerf it down to 5 and grow your way up from there!
Take a look at the downloadable resources as you get started.
You have been blocking already I'm sure of, but let talk about blocking as it is the main defense mechanic in the game. I'm sure there is stuff you should know more about!
One of the main art in Tekken is to be able to juggle in order to drain much of your opponent's lifebar as possible. Let's take a look into how you get started and how you can scale with this knowledge.
Perhaps you are familiar with the terms, but let's go through them as they are new to Tekken 7 in particular, this will enhance your knowledge about the game mechanics.
Have you seen the red flash, or perhaps the long animation that drains your opponent? Let's dive a little into that purpose and the full use of this Rage tool!
Running moves are not the most important factor in the game, but I want you to have a great understanding of the whole game. There will be situations happening that will come as a surprise to you all the time by your own actions or the opponents. So if you know them you will own them!
Throwing is underestimated by so many. Learn how to use them right, and how to be able to escape them in time when you see the pink light!
This video gives you a brief understanding of how and where the sidestep should be implemented.
Getting up in this game can is easy, but with more than 10 different ways to get you can make it confusing for the opponent. You never just want to stick to one wakeup, you want to learn to vary and never let your opponent be able to read your next move.
Getting quite ahead of yourself! As deep as the game goes the parry and reversals system can be quite tricky for you as it can be for the opponent. Let's have a look!
Counter Hit is a state that you can put your character into while you are in a match. I'm sure you are perhaps already aware of it as you have played, but let us go over the various animations and state the opponent can fall into and what you can do to make the best out of this.
I want you to understand how the wall works with the opponent and your character. There are various states you can get the opponent in while they Wall Splat then you also need to know how to follow up properly.
Breaking the wall is simple, but what to do after, what if we make it a bit harder in a good way! Let's talk about the stage gimmicks and how you can benefit greatly from them.
10-hit combos, really? Yeah really! But no you don't have to spend time on them, but they are there! The more you know the more you will advance in the game. Before you move on don't forget the Chian Throws they can be as useful to you as the opponent.
(Chaintrows are character-based!)
Ki-Chance what is it good for..? Well, you don't want to tell your opponent after this lecture! It might be the least used mechanic in the game, but if you can find to use it right you be able to set your opponent up for some extra damage!!
This is not necessarily a skill you'll be using often, but its good to understand the mechanics of it!
Compared to Counter Hit, there are moves that put the opponent out of "control" or into a grounded state on a hit where you can move in and land a 2-hit, this is really useful and takes some extra damage on your opponent!
Similar to the previous lecure there are also moves that don't look like launchers but do send the opponent into a state for you to follow up with a combo for some extra damage. These are situations you want to take full advantage of to get your win!
Now we have been doing all the pressure on the opponent player, but in the heat of the battle, we will be placed in situations that are hard to get out of. We might be stuck in the wall or being under high pressure plus frames move, so how do we get around their stun situation?
Understanding distancing is crucial for you to become more accurate in your actions and reactions, learn how you can improve frames or advantages on certain moves!
As there is 50+ character in this game with 100 of various moves, it makes it really hard to learn everything! As we face struggle along the way its important that we focus on the move or setups that stop us from beating our opponents. Take use the functions in practice mode to our advantage, in order to learn how to defend ourselves.
Learn to know your opponent, this can take some time and long practice sessions, play against CPU, watch matchups, punishment training can help you get started.
Welcome to this exclusive Tekken Online Course - Created by Tekken Player and Tekken Coach Rising Uppercut, combined with nearly two decades of experience!
Hi, thanks for stopping by, since you are here you are most likely looking for how to become a stronger player in Tekken 7 and I can assure you that you will be with these classes! If you still have doubts about your investment in this I suggest you continue to read on:)
[2025 Update - As Tekken 8 is out this course has been discounted by 50% from its original price. What You will learn about Tekken 7 in this course you will be able to apply in Tekken 8 as well. Because much of what you learn here is the Base of how Tekken generally operates and how you should your psychology against the other player, etc. ]
Why you should get this Tekken course!
Allow me to talk a little about why this came to be and why you should be a part of it! In recent years, I have been more committed to the coaching part of Tekken, and after having a bunch of students some of them often asked me for more, or in the matter of having materials or lessons to work with. I can't always handle too many sessions and students. So I decided to create a video series for the most common things.
To me this turned out to be much more than just a reference, so I decided to create a course instead. My students wanted content that is easy to repeat type of content after the session for them to practice. From that experience of being the player and the coach as well as being a student myself in my back in my Tekken 5 days. I took the combination of that and put it together into this course. As of now, this course has 30 video lectures spanning over 2 hours with Tekken 7.
The focus for you taking this course is to make sure no matter your starting point in this game the structure of the lessons will give a good all-around and step-by-step procedure of the game fundamentals and elements are put together. Through every lecture, you will attain a new skill and knowledge connected to the game and your character moves, etc.
As recommended, make sure you complete each step before heading over to the next one. Wanting to learn everything too fast is not a great way of learning anything, but move on as you understand the lesson. Applying what you just learned into the game is going to give the expected results over time, take into caution that Tekken is built upon you to repeat your actions over and over while applying that knowledge. This is just like a real martial arts train and repeats to become the best, now you have correct training at your fingertips knowing what to learn first before the other!
Thinking like a martial artist is why we enjoy Tekken, as it is you who gets better and stronger-minded, and not the character itself!
With some or no previous game experience, can anyone new develop the same skills as the skilled in Tekken 7?
This course is about improving your ability to perform well in the game and it's not graded by any entry-level. By adding new skills and visual information quickly and effectively to your muscle memory you will gradually understand the game mechanics and build the strength you'll need in the game. To most newcomers is about their character being better than them, but if you want to change that, this is about you getting better as the player with the character you play. You like anyone else here have the chance to get better, you might just be stuck and not sure where to pick up learning.
How this Tekken course will change your game and triple your process!
In today's world, Tekken is connected online and we don't play side-by-side on the couch much anymore. Thinking now, we all had that friend or knew that guy who was a little better than you in something particular of perhaps it was in Tekken! Perhaps you don't have that friend's friend who has won the latest Tekken championships to come over for a game night to teach you something new.
With all the time I spent learning on my own, I wish that I had come to have that friend of a friend in Tekken! Why because that precious time you can get with someone like that is remarkable. That's why investing in something that can grow you is something I personally do in areas of my life. Unfortunately, I did not have this tutor per se (even though I had players I could discuss various parts of Tekken with and take into learning from there as I did in Tekken 5, but from Tekken 2 to Tekken 5 I was pretty much on my own.
How is it different from anything else found in Tekken tutorials elsewhere?
It has taken me years to discover, experience, test, and finetune and have a fundament in the development of the games since Tekken 2. As of now being a 5-Star rated Tekken coach online, this is to become the best coursing in Tekken. The course goes beyond the videos you may find for free online and the free content is easily outdated and not arranged in proper order for you to learn it in the right way. Often when we watch a how-to Tekken video on YouTube there is either too much other stuff that just gets you confused or the content playlist is just randomly teaching you a skill you are not ready to apply. In the end, nothing really goes hand in hand. For this program, you'll have the content and the skills coming as you grow. This content is also exclusive and is made a way to make learning easier and fun for you.
We've all experienced the frustration of not being able to scale the game correctly and not being able to point out where you actually are stuck! But, clear out the sheets and start blank today. Even if you know a lot already, repetition for success is the key, and also seeing that you have done what you did so far correctly surely gives you more confidence to move on. If your fundament in Tekken gets right then everything will be right. We will win and still lose, but this time it is on a whole different level!
