I always suggest starting small because we dont want you to get burnt out, overwhelmed, and quit. When I created my very first Udemy course the recording, editing, and creating process became very exhausting and overwhelming. It l took me months to learn and perfect creating high quality videos. The key was starting with what I had, taking it day by day, and pushing past / through failure.

It is important to know that all it takes it 1 really good idea to make an amazing course. Sometimes we think it needs to be revolutionary, but what is more key is we present the material in a very good manner.

When I create my online Courses I have a Specific Strategy or "System". A System allows you the maximum freedom to let your mind unwind and just become extremely creative. Here is my System strategy to creating online courses:

1) I choose a topic I know a lot about and then I do additional research to make it better

2) I plan right on/in Udemy that way I dont have to do additional work creating a mind-map ect.

3) I keep things simple and don't try to overwhelm the students with facts/boring slides.

4) I shoot my courses in sections depending on how much time during the day I have to create.

5) I edit these sections the same day, allows me to not get "burnt out" editing after all lectures.

Willpower and extra efforts will take away from your students learning. If the course is disorganized and hard to follow the students will lose interest and value from the teachings!

The sweet spot for lectures is right around 6 to 9 minutes. After that you will start losing engagement from your audience. It is also important to know that short lectures tend to be more engaging, as long as they are above 3 minutes in length!
