Over time, the pet learns to associate pressing a particular button with the desired outcome. Positive reinforcement, such as treats or praise, is crucial to encourage and reward the pet’s successful use of paw targeting.

    Gradually, more buttons can be introduced, expanding the range of communication. The ultimate goal is for the pet to independently use the buttons to make specific requests or convey feelings, fostering a deeper understanding and stronger bond between the pet and its owner.
