Task 01:
This task is related to the first component that makes up an effective lesson: The Lesson Aim.
Now would be a good time to print out the lesson outline, or work in whatever computer program, or app, that you feel comfortable using.
In this task you will need to:
Fill in the Name of the lesson, with the Bible reference,
and complete the Lesson Aim,
As I mentioned in the introduction we will be working through the same passage that we did in my first course. So in our example: The lesson is about the demon-possessed man. The passage is taken from Mark chapter 5 verses 1-20.
Task 02:
This task is related to the second component that makes up an effective lesson: Songs or Worship Time.
In this task you will need to select one or two songs that relate to our lesson, Mark Chapter 5 verses 1-20. If you can not find any suitable songs, please do not be afraid to write your own.
Be sure to check:
Are the lyrics are truthful,
Is there anything that will be difficult for the children to understand,
are the songs are enjoyable and
Is there variety?
You will also need to state
how you will introduce the songs,
what instruments you will use,
how you will illustrate the songs.
For these tasks I have attached 3 different answers related to the different age groups. I have divided the age groups as follows: Ages 2-5 (Preschool), Ages 6 - 9 (Grades 1-4) and Ages 10 - 12 (Grades 5-7). Please bare in mind that my answers are only there as a guideline and may not be the same as yours. This does not mean that your answers are incorrect.
Task 03:
This task is related to the next 2 components that make up an effective lesson.
In this task you will need to:
Fill in the Recap on your lesson outline for our passage, Mark Chapter 5 verses 1-20. Remembering that in our example, our lesson does not form part of a series. So we would use this time to explain to the children where our story falls into the Bible Timeline.
Next, you need to come up with an intro that relates to our Bible passage.
Once again I have attached 3 different answers related to the different age groups.
Task 04:
This task is related to our fifth key component that makes up an effective lesson: Prayer
In this task you will be required to write out two age-appropriate prayers relating to our passage.
The first prayer should be to ask God to help us to explain the lesson clearly and for the children to understand.
The second prayer should be in response to what has been taught.
Remember to keep your prayers short and simple.
Again, for this task I have attached 3 different answers related to the different age groups.
Please bear in mind that my answers are only there as a guideline and may not be the same as yours. This does not mean that your answers are incorrect.
Task 05:
This task is related to our sixth key component that makes up an effective lesson: The Bible Passage.
In this task you will need to simplify the passage, which may mean rewriting the entire passage from beginning to end. The passage that we will be working through is Mark chapter 5 verses 1-20.
Remember to:
Explain any difficult words or concepts,
Leave out any unimportant details and
Add questions to ask the children while you are telling the story.
A helpful resource to use for this task is a Children’s Bible.
Again, for this task I have attached 3 different answers related to the different age groups.
Please bear in mind that my answers are only there as a guideline and may not be the same as yours. This does not mean that your answers are incorrect.
Task 06:
This task is related to our sixth key component that makes up an effective lesson: The Bible Passage.
In this task you will need to come up with some creative ways to teach the passage. The passage that we will be working through is Mark chapter 5 verses 1-20.
First, go through the 5 sections and choose which visual aid you think will best suit our passage.
Next, try to find a way to involve the children in the lesson.
In the next lecture I will share some of my own ideas with you.
Task 07:
This task is related to our seventh key component that makes up an effective lesson: The Application.
In this task you will need to fill in the Application on your lesson outline.
* Remember to refer back to the questions you asked during the intro.
Again, for this task I have attached 3 different answers related to the different age groups.
Please bear in mind that my answers are only there as a guideline and may not be the same as yours. This does not mean that your answers are incorrect.
Task 08:
This task is related to our eighth key component that makes up an effective lesson: The Memory Verse
In this task you will need to find a memory verse that relates to our passage and a game to help your class to remember that verse.
Again, for this task I have attached 3 different answers related to the different age groups.
Please bear in mind that my answers are only there as a guideline and may not be the same as yours. This does not mean that your answers are incorrect.
Task 09:
This task is related to our ninth key component that makes up an effective lesson: The Take-Home crafts or activities

Again, for this task I have attached 3 different answers related to the different age groups.
Please bear in mind that my answers are only there as a guideline and may not be the same as yours. This does not mean that your answers are incorrect.
