Teach Online: How To Create In-Demand Online Courses

In this lesson I will share tips to help you pick a topic for your course, to ensure it’s a course that people will want to enroll in. I also give you a checklist you can refer to, to you pick your course topic.

In this lesson I will show you how to create a detailed course outline that breaks your course content up into bite-sized sections so it will be easier to create your lessons, videos, and other course materials. I also share tips to help ensure you cover everything you need to cover and don’t forget anything. I also share the outline I created for this course, as an example for you to follow.

In this lesson I walk you through a live demo of how to record your computer screen using Screenflow software. This is the software you’ll use if you’re on a Mac to record how-to videos of procedures you do on your computer, and to record slideshow presentations you create in Keynote or Powerpoint. If you’re on a PC and are using software other than Screenflow, this demo will show you the basic processes/principles, however it will likely look a bit different on a different software program (e.g. Camtasia).

In this lesson I show you how to edit your screencast videos in Screenflow, which is screen recording software for the Mac. If you’ve never used Screenflow (or any screen recording software before) this demo will show you some basic tips and tricks you can use to make your course videos awesome! If you’re on a PC and are using software other than Screenflow, this demo will show you the basic processes/principles, however it will likely look a bit different on a different software program (e.g. Camtasia).

In this lesson I share all of the equipment you’ll need to shoot your course videos. I show you all the equipment I use now, and what I started with. I don’t want you to have to go spend a ton of money outfitting a production studio—it’s not necessary. I’ll tell you what equipment is the most important and that you should invest in, and what can wait until you start earning money from your courses. In this video I demonstrate how to edit your videos in iMovie. If you're using software other than iMovie the process will be similar.

In this video I teach you all the settings you’ll need to know to export your final videos in the best format for the web. I also give you a checklist with all the settings so you can use it when you’re creating your course videos.
