In this course, I will take you through fundamental features in Tableau that will enable you to transform the way you conduct data analysis - it has certainly added huge value to my career to date and I am certain you will experience the same.
I have managed to add significant value in some of the largest financial organisations in the world by enabling users to see data through a completely different lens - The Tableau lens. After 10 years of data visualisation experience, I am here to share with you this skillset. I feel every individual who is involved with any form of data analysis in their job or anyone with passion for data analytics should have on Tableau on their CV - and this course will enable you to do that.
This video will briefly outline Section 1's contents. Throughout this course, you will be guided through topics in a carefully constructed manner to help you get the most out of the course.

In this video, I will show you 3 different options available to you when it comes to getting a version of Tableau. Whatever option suits you, having Tableau installed on your machine in one form or another will allow you to practice all the wonderful things Tableau has to offer.
In the resources section of this article, you will find all of the sample datasets that I use throughout the course.

Now you have been taken on a tour of Tableau and seen some of the options available to you, play around with a sample dataset. See what you can create and don't be afraid if there are terms or options that you don't understand!
A lot of answers to problem statements are answered by exploring the options in Tableau on sample datasets.
I have stumbled across so many new features that I did not know existed, simply by being curious...
Give yourself a 15 minute window, drag and drop items onto different sections and observe the results.

Jane, the Chief Financial Officer at Superstore Ltd, needs your help in creating a dashboard for an upcoming 'Global Profit Review' with the Management Board. The dashboard should addressed two requirements:
1) Show how Countries are performing in relation to each other with respect to Profit
2) Show the profitability of different Product Areas
Use what you have learnt so far and see if you can create a visualisation that will help Jane deliver a clear message.
The dataset to use is downloadable from the resources Section in Lecture 4. Download it and have some fun!
