An introduction to the course.
Discover the wavetable interface in Live, featuring two oscillators and a sub oscillator, two filters, envelopes, two LFOs, and a modulation matrix with global controls.
Explore wave table oscillators by morphing between shapes, from sine to triangle, sawtooth, and square, and detune two oscillators for a stereo tone with a sub oscillator and tone control.
Demonstrate oscillator effects in wave table, including FM, tuning, amount, pulse width, sync, warp, fold, and distortion, and applying to sine, square, and other waveforms.
Create custom wavetable sounds by dragging audio into the oscillator, then modulate wavetable position with an lfo in the modulation matrix, and explore raw versus interpolated playback at any pitch.
Explore diverse filter circuits in Ableton Wavetable, from clean low-pass to analog emulations like oasa, emc2, scmp, and pr1, with drive, resonance, and serial, parallel, and split routing.
Explore wave table unison settings, from classic to shimmer and random note modes, adjust detune, voices, and stereo spread to craft thick, wide, moving sounds.
Learn how global and glide settings in wavetable control volume, polyphony (eight notes), mono mode, and legato glide timing to create expressive bass and lead sounds.
Explore the amp ADSR envelopes in wavetable synthesis, including attack, decay, sustain, and release; learn how curves and values shape per-note dynamics and modulation targets like filter frequency.
Explore envelope loop modes in Ableton wavetable, using amplitude and signed envelopes to shape filter frequency, attack, decay, and looping behavior for dynamic textures.
Craft a shimmering wavetable pad by shaping the amp envelope, modulating wavetable position with slow LFOs, layering detuned oscillators, applying filter movement, and adding unison and reverb.

This comprehensive course takes a deep dive into synthesis using Ableton’s Wavetable synthesizer.
'Wavetable' is a powerful Wavetable subtractive synth that's capable of a plethora of modern contemporary sounds.
A basic understanding of subtractive synthesis parameters (such as oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFO's etc) is assumed, and this course goes straight into the nuts and bolts of sound design in Wavetable.
If you are new to the subject of synthesis then I recommend checking out my ‘Synthesis 101’ series of courses, which cover all the basics.
We cover all the controls of Ableton’s Wavetable such as:
· Signal Flow
· Wavetable oscillators
· Multimode filters
· Low Frequency Oscillators
· Envelopes
· The Modulation Matrix and more
There are many different example patches on how to build common types of sounds such as:
· Basses
· Leads
· Pads
Although this course specifically focuses on Ableton’s ‘Wavetable’ synthesizer, many of the fundamental concepts of synthesis and sound design will also translate to other synthesizers with similar specifications such as Native Instrument's 'Massive' and Xfer's 'Serum'.
This course is aimed at intermediate to advanced music producers who want to get up to speed with this amazing software synthesizer.
So if you are ready to become a synth ninja this is the course for you.
