A candlestick is a graphical representation of price action for a specific time frame—such as 1 minute, 1 hour, or 1 day.
Each candlestick consists of:
Body: The thick part showing the range between the opening and closing prices.
Wick (or Shadow): The thin lines above and below the body showing the highest and lowest prices.
Color: Indicates direction—typically green (or white) for upward movement and red (or black) for downward.
# How Is a Candle Formed?
A candle forms based on four key price points during a time interval:
Open: The price at the beginning of the time period.
High: The highest price reached during the period.
Low: The lowest price reached during the period.
Close: The price at the end of the time period.
For example, in a 1-hour candlestick:
If the price opens at ₹100, rises to ₹110, drops to ₹95, and closes at ₹105:
The body spans ₹100 to ₹105.
The upper wick reaches ₹110.
The lower wick touches ₹95.
The candle is green because the close is higher than the open.
