Lindsay Groth introduces a swimming program for families focused on practice, persistence, and addressing water fear through ten days of at-home lessons for safer swimming.
Guide your child from your knee to the wall, counting to three as you support their armpits and lead them to kick to the wall, clap, and receive praise.
Guide your child to the wall, explain the jump and turn, hold their wrist to count 1, 2, 3, let them grab the wall, and repeat three times with praise.
Lesson 4- REVIEW “KICKS,” “SWIMS TO WALL,” as well as “SITTING JUMPS TO WALL.”
Guide your child through standing jumps to the wall, wrist-hold, and a three-count, rotate to face the wall, then return with underwater swims in three sets of three.
Lesson 7- “SWIMS WITH A WRIST GRAB” After your child swims to the wall for an “UNDERWATER SWIM”, grab one wrist and have the child swim back to you. Practice “KICKS,” “UNDERWATER SWIMS” and “STANDING JUMPS TO WALL.”
Guide your child through a ring dive to retrieve a bottom ring, with the child on your knee, a countdown, push-down and independent push-up in three sets of three.

Here's the run-down of the course, just so you have an idea of what you're getting into :) We both have one goal here, a swimming child! One of the perks of this online course is that each lesson has a "step by step" video tutorial, written instructions (please print from download section on this page) of each lesson as well as visual cue cards (found in each lessons folder) to help you teach your child (great if children are very young, or have some alternative learning styles). However they learn best, we have you covered! You can watch each lesson (look at the cue cards or read about it) with your child before getting in the water so both of you are well prepared.
Please watch all of these videos in consecutive order and don't skip around. The lessons are strategically placed in an order to help build upon each other. If your child has not grasped a lesson, please stay on that lesson until they can demonstrate the skill successfully.
Safe Splashing Written Instructions Document. PLEASE PRINT FROM DOWNLOADS. It is very important to read and review this written instruction often. It is recommended to print them and have them present during the lesson to refer back to if needed. Please note, the “INTRO LESSON” is ONLY IN THE WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS, and does not have a corresponding video. Every other lesson, lessons 1-8 has a corresponding video to demonstrate exactly what should be done in the water with your child.
