Super Memory Essentials: Develop A Perfect Memory

In this lecture, we will discover all 4 of the 3 keys to a perfect memory (yes, you read that right!)

In this lecture we will look at the first key to a perfect memory: association.

In this lecture, we will discover how our brain stores information naturally using interleaving...and that's a process we will exploit to strengthen our super memory!

In this lecture we will take what we did in the association lecture, and use it to enable you to do something only 1 in every 10,000 people can do...not bad, eh?

1. We saw in the last lecture how spinning a story, or creating a mini-movie around the thing we want to remember can make the recall process simple...but this time, I want you to do it!

Right, let's put what we've learned so far to the test! Remember that list of 10 items I gave you way at the start as a baseline test? Well, were going to do that again at the end of this lecture...right after we cover key number 2: Location :)

In this lecture, we'll look at our final, and possibly the most powerful key: imagination!

You're going to need a journey with 10 distinct points, and together we will memorise the 10 commandments...in order!

Okay! If you've watched the excellent BBC adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, you've heard of memory palaces! And now, we will add to yours.

I mentioned earlier about using locations to store "collections", well, lets store some collective nouns in your memory palace :)

So far we've memorised things that are easy to visualize...but what if you can't come up with an obvious instant hook...

This is probably one of the biggest, and most embarrassing memory problems anyone could ever fave (face..boom, boom!). Forgetting a face, well, actually, not being able to put a name to a face.

After this section, you'll never have this problem!

Right, now we have first names under our belt, let's get to sir names...and linking them together :)

In this lecture, I will show you some selfies of my beautiful and handsome friends...just so you can practice using these techniques...imagine how spooked they'd be if you walked up to them in the street and addressed them by name!!!

So far, we've used what's immediately available to us to create our memorable images and scenes...but for numbers, you're going to need a system!

In this section I will show you 4, yes FOUR. The first two you will probably be familiar with, but then we'll get to the serious (but fun) stuff!

Now we get to the first of the power user memory systems for numbers: The Major System. This one has been around since the 17th century...and there's a reason people still use it today!

In this lecture, I will show you how to take all the heavy listing out of using the Major System...by using a really cool website to do all (well most) of the work for you :)

This is the second of the heavyweight systems for memorising numbers. Not quite as old as the Major System, but every bit as powerful, if not more so. You will need to invest time for it to be useful for you though...but work well worth the effort.

In this lecture, we'll take the D.O.M.I.N.I.C. System one step further, and stack multiple double digits to memorize a phone number...and trust me, it's far easier than it sounds!

Pi, that infinite number is often used to test your memory...we're going to do the first 12 digits in under 5 minutes...

There's something impressive about people who know a little bit about ancient mythology. After this section, you will be able to name a LOT of the major ones...starting with the originals: the Titans
