About The Author
This course is based on the book 'Adventures In Massage, Become a Superhero Massage Therapist'
Angela Landeros’ career began as a licensed therapeutic riding instructor. She spent her time teaching individuals of all ages to use horses as their therapy tool and for recreation.
Massaging humans was not in her plans. At all. She was initially licensed as an equine body worker and used that skill to understand more about the biomechanics of the horse in relation to its rider.
After moving from her home town of San Diego to Los Angeles, her new path began when a co-worker persuaded her to try massaging out her pain. This made little sense to Angela; instead of four legs, this client only had two and absolutely no fur.
Within minutes it was clear to Angela that her subject did not need to have four legs and that muscles are muscles. It was not hard to learn how to feel tension and knowing how to release it, because horses had taught her to listen not for words but with her body and intuition.
After that experience she decided to focus on helping the two-legged variety of clientele and started massage school “for people”.
Not long after starting her new career in massage, Angela was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which caused an action tremor in her left arm and she could not walk very far without developing a severe limp.
This did not stop her and instead convinced her that health was number one and that massaging actually helped her body and brain. A journey in healing through diet and lifestyle brought on her need to continue helping others by writing her first book, ‘An Autoimmune Food Journey, A 30 Day Food Log For Those Who Want to Feel Amazing Every Day,’ which was originally published in early 2018.
Client: “I don’t know how you do this job with
your type of disability.”
Me: “You help me every step of the way because
you’re what holds me up—literally I lean
on you most of the time.”
Based on her experiences Angela has come to believe that healing is physical, mental and spiritual. Her own healing journey combined with her desire to help others gave Angela the encouragement to start teaching her knowledge and skills to other talented massage therapists and physical therapists.
To that end, she developed the Summa Teq. massage method, wrote the book and published the course!

What is Summa Teq.?
“Summa” - meaning the sum of all knowledge in a field
“Teq.” - Technique or method
The methods covered in this book are the most unique ones as to what Summa Teq. has to offer. Licensed massage therapists or physical therapists can learn how to become a superhero therapist by learning Summa Teq.
The humor and light instruction in this book should be seen as only an overview of the training that a licensed therapist can be taught with in-person or video training in Summa Teq. You can eventually learn the skills to read a person with one touch of your hand, with or without the sight of your eyes.
There’s a code of honor and respect for yourself and the person in your care. You will be able to build trust not by words alone but with the skill of Summa Teq. methods and your own intuition.
Building a relationship of trust does take a form of communication. This communication is based on the atmosphere you create which includes your work space, your energy and personality, and how you can verbally chit chat to get to know the body on the table. If language is a barrier, use your space, methods, and energy to convey comfort. One hand on the body will tell you how much a person needs you.
Through unique and standard deep tissue and sports massage techniques combined with passive movements to the body, you can manipulate the tissues and the brain to relax tension on a whole new level.
Therapists trained in Summa Teq. do not need to verbally advertise their deeper skill with the body until they have complete trust and have had success. Instead, you will let the person in your care figure that out on their own. It has to be their revelation that your skill is unique and successful. There is no place for an ego in Summa Teq.
