Hospitalised twice with psychosis, Joe was in crisis. Luckily the second time she was admitted, she was a delegate on our programme, learning the art of effective Coaching.
When Joe was discharged she and I began to work together. I shared with her the Coaching and NLP approaches that I believed would make a difference to her mental health and she became stronger and stronger.
Joe is now a graduate of our programme and a highly credible Coach. She now works in the field on mental health, sharing her expertise born from her personal experiences.
This course provides a clear understanding of how that process took place and how Joe became well again, maintaining her mental health.

Here at Simply Changing, we are often asked whether we can coach people who are experiencing mental health unwellness. The question comes from both mental health professionals such as social workers and also people who have mental unwellness in their families.
Our aim with this programme is to open awareness to how resourceful people are who experience mental unwellness and how we can engage with such people person towards their goal of wellness.
I had the privilege of working with Joe who engaged with me as a Coach and built great strategies using coaching and NLP methodologies. She was focused on her goal of wellness and we worked together with true transparency, exploring coaching and NLP models that would give her great clarity.

You may recognise this Mental Health Continuum or it might be new to you. Its purpose is to help the Coach to know where they might be comfortable in working with a person who is experiencing mental un-wellness.
Introducing you to Joe Roe. Joe experiences bipolar. She is a Graduate Coach of Simply Changing and whilst she was undergoing her training with us, she experienced a mental health crisis and was hospitalised. I offered to work with her when she was ready and she very bravely accepted that. Louise coached her and she engaged with the process fully.
Through her experience of being coached she recovered her health and now specialises in coaching people with bipolar and other manifestations of mental unwellness.

Aidan is a man who understands mental unwellness from a first-hand perspective. He challenges the language used by the psychiatric establishment; he is tired of being diagnosed and labelled.
