In this class, we’ll define our asset and break it down into all its pieces. We’ll also prepare them for sculpting in ZBrush. If you prefer to do the sculpting in Blender, that could also work.
You can find the GOB addon here:
https://github.com/JoseConseco/GoB
It’s very easy to install. In Blender, go to the Add-on installation menu (F4 > Preferences > Add-ons), click “Install,” and select the .zip file.
Once installed, in the add-on’s options you’ll see a Troubleshooting section. There, click the Install GoZ button. This will add an option in ZBrush so you can find Blender in the list of exporters.
After that, go to Preferences > GoZ in ZBrush, look for the path to Blender, select where your Blender installation is located, and the addon will be all set up.
Make sure that if you download the latest version of the GOB addon, you also have a compatible version of Blender—usually the most recent release.
In this class, we’ll sculpt stylized wood in ZBrush, demonstrating the techniques and most commonly used brushes for stylization, as well as the workflow you should follow.
In this course we are going to learn how to make a retopology for video games, I will create it with high polygonal density but depending on your target you can lower the polycount.
In the current versions of Blender, we can perform retopology more comfortably by enabling the Retopology Shading, which you’ll find in the overlays under Edit Mode > Retopology.
Retopologizing these wooden assets can be simpler if we need a lower poly count. This depends on the type of game they are intended for, and the camera distance is always crucial—the farther the camera is, the lower the poly count we can use.
For this class I will use a packaging addon called UVpackmaster, if you don't want to buy it you can use the packager that Blender brings by default.
I will guide you through the creation of AAA-quality modular stylized 3D assets using Blender, ZBrush, and Substance Painter, ensuring seamless compatibility with Unreal Engine and Unity.
This comprehensive course covers every stage of the 3D art creation process, from the initial concept and high-poly model sculpting to the optimization of low-poly meshes through efficient retopology.
You will learn how to achieve professional UV unwrapping, bake detailed textures using Substance Painter’s robust toolset, and generate physically based (PBR) rendering maps.
We will explore advanced painting techniques and color theory for a stylized aesthetic, ensuring that your designs truly stand out in any project.
By focusing on performance optimization, you will create game-ready assets that maintain top-tier visual fidelity and run smoothly in modern engines.
Whether you are a professional looking to refine your skills or a beginner eager to break into the world of 3D art, this hands-on program offers clear guidance, practical tips, and real-world workflows.
Master the essential techniques for building stylized modular environments, enabling faster level design and reducing repetitive tasks.
Upon completion, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to produce AAA-level assets for your own projects or professional assignments, making you a highly sought-after talent in the game development industry. Join us and start creating immersive, visually captivating stylized worlds today with confidence.
