This short intro video will give you an idea of what you can expect from this course. Although this course was created with supporting the mental health's of Dad's in mind I think there is advice in this course that is universal.
In this video you will see a demonstration of a body weight exercise that you can do anywhere when you have a few spare moments. It goes without saying that you attempt this exercise at your own risk and if you are unsure please consult your doctor first. This exercise requires no equipment but will help to strengthen every muscle group as well as your cardiovascular system.
This video will demonstrate how incorporating a cold shower into your daily routine can be a very effective way to manage and improve your mental health. That said if you are new to cold water therapy I would strongly advise speaking to your doctor as cold water can put an increased pressure on your heart which could be a shock if your body is not suitably prepared. I would advise starting will slightly colder water than you are used to and increasing the length and decreasing the temperature if and when you feel ready to do so.Research has proven that cold water therapy (cold showers and ice baths etc) or exercising in cold water (open water swimming) can have dramatic and long lasting benefits to your physical and mental health. That said you attempt this at your own risk. Good luck James
In this video you will see how the simple act of going outside for a walk, ideally in the countryside, can be a very effective way to calm down if you are feeling stressed.
This video will show how having fun with your family and participating in some sort of activity can not only help to improve your physical but also your mental well being.
This video will demonstrate how tidying and cleaning your living space can really benefit your mental health. I find it very difficult to feel calm ad settled if my home is untidy or uncluttered. I also find it very difficult to concentrate or work effectively if the house is a mess. Apart from the obvious physical health benefits that come from doing housework the act of getting your house in order can really help your mood as well.
This video will explain how and why men are also highly likely to get the baby blues to some extent. Unfortunately ,this seems to be a narrative that still isn't acknowledged or accepted in society today. I'm hoping that courses like this might help to at least challenge the quite unhelpful concept that men just need to "Man Up" and get on with it.
This video will also explain why making time with your partner away from the stresses and strains of parenting is vital if you are going to successfully navigate the challenges that come from married and family life.
One of the things that has really helped and continues to help my mental health is the creative outlet of developing a youtube channel where ultimately I'm tell the story of my dadlife as a man who struggles with his mental health. Not only does the the physical act of writing, filming and editing a youtube video help to keep my OCD and intrusive thoughts under control but hopefully I might be able to raise the conversation about the importance of looking after your mental health.
This video narration will invite you to develop the skills and ideas highlighted in this course and see where they could go. The creative outlet of learning how to create, edit and upload content to a youtube channel and various social media platforms has proven to be an effective way to keep my OCD and depression under control.

The advice in this stress management course will be applicable to anyone, but I suppose it's tailored to soon-to-be or existing Mums or Dads who want to learn how they can better manage their stress and anxiety levels.
If, like me, you're a parent who sometimes gets so overwhelmed that he is very close to losing his sh*t, then this is the course for you.
Parenting is often compared to activities like herding cats or pushing water uphill, as well as the advice in this course I have found the occasional dad joke can really help give you some perspective..
"Why did the tap dancer retire?"
"He kept falling in the sink!
That said I'm here to offer the knowledge from all the lessons I've learnt from over a decade of being a dad of 3.
Want to know how to get better at managing your mental health?
This course can help with that.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a happily married father of three and being a husband and a dad is my reason to be. That said it is also, without a doubt the most stressful, exhausting and challenging area of my life.
There have been and continue to be daily, if not hourly, moments where I doubt my ability to do this.
That said from creating and uploading content on my YouTube channel and podcast "Dad Mind Matters" (available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify) I've realised that there are millions of other parents who have or are struggling. All the techniques demonstrated in this course have helped get me through some genuinely upsetting and challenging times which is why I'm confident they can do the same for you.
Many thanks for your interest in my course and good luck
James
