You will be introduced to why this system this Japanese self defense system is so effective and why the techniques are effective taking into consideration as a lady, your stature, weight as well as self defense experience and why you will be effective in defending your self.
So why self defense? Unfortunately in today's world knowing how to defend your self as a lady is a life skill. With the increase in Gender based violence statistics as well as abuse and violence in the home towards ladies, knowing how to defend your self is a skill set that is a requirement to live a well rounded, confident, fulfilled and fear-less life.
Defending yourself does not happen when you are already in a contact situation. Effective defense happens a long way before any contact with an aggressor. In this lecture I will be covering the effective methodologies that make up the initial defensive steps to avoid a contact situation with an aggressor or aggressors.
The first of the three concepts regarding awareness. "Mushin", based on the zen philosophy of "having no mind". In this lecture we will bring to light how important being mindful is.
The second of the three concepts is where we look at the importance of controlling perceptions and the emotions linked to them. We address on how to have an immovable heart or "Fudoshin".
Awareness of your environment and the environment is a crucial skill to have. We address the senses and your super power sense, the 6th sense and the importance of those in defending your self.
In this lecture I will go through what you will be learning and what will you be able to do and be once the course has been completed.
In this lecture the discussion will be around the concept of "Kata" or drills. Why do we do drills? so that we can create the mind body connection. The concept of muscle memory will be addressed and how the drills assist greatly in helping you to be able to act effectively when faced with an aggressive situation.
In the wrist grab defense lecture we will be going through an attack where the aggressor grabs your wrist. How to defend against the attack as well as break loose from the attack and get away safely.
This lecture addresses an attack where an aggressor attacks you from behind, to place you in a strangle hold. How to defend against the attack and make your escape
You will be shown how to defend against a striking attack, where an aggressor strikes at you with a fist. How to use full body movement and distancing and angling to effectively defend yourself and escape.
Using distraction techniques to get the aggressor to close their eyes so that you can defend against an attack and make your escape.
How yo use your bag or a lanyard or any form of cable like tool too defend against an attack.
Self defense in the home and how to defend your self in your home as well as how to use awareness inside and outside your home. Some important observances and ideas to be able to best defend your self against an aggressor in and outside the home.
