Strategic thinking and planning is an important process that can often be overlooked or ignored in the hustle and bustle of everyday working, or worse, it can be done chaotically using flawed brainstorming workshops that leave more questions than answers!
This Biggerplate course will show you how to conduct a simple, but highly effective end-to-end strategic planning process using Xmind. This process can be completed by an individual entrepreneur or business leader, or conducted with group input and engagement throughout.
We'll start by showing how to conduct a comprehensive review of your current strategic position using a simple Xmind template, with tips on effective brainstorming. Next, we'll use some key features in Xmind to organise and prioritise the information we have captured, to make the critical information highly visible. Next, we'll think about the future state we want to reach, and define some goals in our mind map using the OKR framework as just one example. Once clear on where we want to get to in the future (thanks to our OKRs), we'll show you how to break down big goals into tangible actions using the task management features of the Xmind software.
By the end of this process, you'll have a single Xmind mind map that contains a comprehensive record of all the thinking that went into the process, as well as a crystal clear picture of the priority issues to address, the desired future goals, and the actions to get you there.
