Learning Outcomes for this Chapter:
● Three Aspects that fall into Communication
● Understand the Importance of Body Language
● Understand how you can use body language to achieve positive outcomes for yourself
Some birds travel in flocks, some just in pairs and some completely alone. Just because they’re alone though, it doesn’t necessarily mean they want to stay alone.
The same goes for humans. We are actually pack animals, we find safety and comfort in numbers. In fact one of mankind’s deepest needs, is the need to feel accepted or part of a group.
For some, this talent comes seemingly naturally and for the rest of us, less so. It sometimes feels like we took a sick day on the day they taught that lesson to everyone else.
Well, the good news is, today’s lesson is going to give you this very skill. What’s also exciting for those individuals who were in on that fortuitous class, you have not been in this class! The skills that you are going to learn today, my little fledgling, are far more advanced than the lessons you received in school, university or at the dinner table with your parents.
These skills take connection to the next level by learning subconscious relationship building techniques.
Why is this important you may ask:
You will make friends a lot quicker
People want to do business with people they like (Bonus!)
You can make more money if you use these skills (Kawubunga!)
You will be far more likable and popular (XOXO)
People will find that they simply like you
These sound pretty cool right? (Oh absolutely!)
So keep an eye out for the following points: (Who knows, these may help you for your quiz. Wink wink, nudge nudge)
The definition of Rapport
Understanding the Mirror Neuron
Techniques for building Rapport
How to identify once Rapport has been built
Building Rapport through Touch
Okay my fledgling, start flapping!
Today you will learn the difference between a Dodo and Fish Eagle, one is extinct and one is a superior bird of incredible soaring talent.
In the previous chapter you learnt how to fly with the flock so-to-speak. You learnt how to build connections with people by demonstrating similarities to them consciously using your body language. Pretty easy right? Imagine all the possibilities if you had learnt that earlier? Anyway forget about that, we look forwards not backwards.
This next chapter will teach you a quick and revolutionary technique you can use to decipher 100’s of body language positions without having to study them all individually. (You are welcome!)
This particular framework that the HURU team developed, is going to save you hours of mystification and learning. You will also go over all the body language positions and what they actually mean.
Welcome to the Golden Triangle of Body Language, it’s not at all like the Bermuda Triangle, but rather the opposite. When you begin to fly over the Body Language Triangle of dreams, suddenly all the secret body language signs and movements become simple to understand and interpret.
Why is this important for you to know? Well essentially the crux of the course lies in this very chapter. You wanted to learn strategic body language right? Well this chapter will do just that. You will learn how to interpret body language, and use your own body language to convey the right messages.
You will also learn how to understand what the direction of somebody’s body means and in understanding these minute nuances, you will become a far superior Fish Eagle navigating every situation with far more awareness and strategic focus.
Look out for the following golden nuggets of information:
The Body Language Triangle
The meanings of different body language positions
Seated Positions
Standing Positions
The Direction of the Body
Okay, you little fish eagle time to start soaring. Feet on the edge… and…. Geronimo!!
Mmmmmm, I can smell something delicious baking…. It must be Grand ma’s famous cookie recipe…also known as the, The Body Language Recipe…. (Okay, not quite but I promise you it’s goooood.)
In the last chapter you learnt how to read body language according to the Body Language Triangle™ . It’s pretty revolutionary right? Almost as simple as the invention of the paperclip… In the coming days you should start to use those laser sharp eyes of yours to watch what every single living human being is doing with their bodies and then look it up on the Body Language Dictionary. This way you can start training yourself to remember the tiny nuances of each position. Sooner or later your brain will start to remember and you won’t need to analyze every. single. movement. that. every. person. Makes. Because that gets pretty exhausting after a while.
Listen here my pubescent eagle, pimples come and go, but this information will remain steadfast for the rest of your life. Stay focused and look out for the following gold nuggets:
The Body Language Recipe
How to read body language in context
How to read a sequence of movements
Why should you be interested you ask? Well this chapter forms the ‘Strategic’ part of this Body Language course. You will learn that the tiny shifts and movements you see others make will begin to bring all this learning to life. You will start to correctly interpret what others are thinking according to what you are saying. This means if your business pitch isn’t going as well as you hoped, your interpretation of the other’s body language will give you this indication meaning that you can immediately adjust your pitch right then and there to something that is perhaps more appealing to your client.
If the girl across the table from you, on your date, is looking helluva bored and disinterested, you can adjust the topic to something she may find more attractive. If your teenager promises that they won’t get up to anything naughty that night, you can check the truth of that statement right then and there. Pretty magical stuff I tell you.
So without further adieu, let’s start baking….
By now, my magnificent eagle, your form is looking damn fine, your flying is almost there. Let’s teach you death rolls and how to catch a thermal.
In the previous chapter we learnt the ‘strategic’ aspect of body language, learning that the sequence of movements that someone moves through really gives you the most important information as to how they are feeling about either you, the situation or the topic of conversation. You should also realise by now that the context that you see these different positions in determines the meaning of those positions.
In this super duper mind blowing chapter you are going to learn about the simplest way to form connection, Eye Contact, and how it can be used to express emotion using the different quadrants.
Try look out for the golden eggs of information:
Why eye contact is important
Eye contact as a means of building connection
The different eye-quadrants
The different eye gazes
Why should you spend your time watching this chapter? Well eye contact forms one of the strongest foundations for connection and empathy, without this, it makes connection a lot more challenging. And what does connection lead to? Success! Fulfillment! Happiness! Wealth! Friends! Clients! Fun weekends! Dates! And a whole more with just as many exclamation marks!
And so you beautiful eagle, let’s fly!
Woah! What is this? A bonus chapter on micro expressions just for me? Absolutely!
As a thank you for purchasing The Strategic body Language Course, we have included a bonus chapter on an introduction to Micro Expressions.
Micro Expressions are the half-a-second almost imperceptible movements that occur on a person’s face when they experience certain emotions.
So as a high flying eagle now, with a sharp eye for the minute changes on a person’s body language, why not give that eye an extra challenge in spotting three of the seven universal micro expressions?
Enjoy!
Have you ever wondered what makes a ‘people person’?
If you guessed having the ability to effectively communicate with others, then you are absolutely right.
However what most people forget is that the majority of how human beings communicate is non-verbal. In other words, we use our body language.
If you’ve ever felt that sometimes people just don’t understand you in the way you would like to be understood, then usually that’s because what you’re saying, doesn’t match what your body is saying.
More importantly, most people don’t consider the body language of those they’re engaging with, meaning they aren’t picking up on the huge pieces of important information being imparted.
By simply listening to what someone is saying, we’re missing out on more than half of the picture, since their body language makes up the vast majority of how they're feeling.
If you can train yourself to focus on the subtle messages communicated through body language, you give yourself the advantage over everyone else, as you understand more than everyone else.
Who This Course is For:
Every single person!! Why? Because we all communicate with the universal language of the body. We've all learnt how to speak our home language, maybe even a couple of others, but EVERY single person speaks with their body language. It should. be a necessity to learn body language- to ensure are understanding correctly and 'speaking' it correctly too.
What To Expect:
Learning and understanding body language as a subtle art, which means you will need to become knowledgeable on how to identify and contextualise different body language examples in order for you to utilise these skills in your day-to-day life.
The different aspects you will learn about include:
The importance of understanding body language
How to become a mind reader in the quickest simplest way
Understanding Context and its impact on reading body language accurately
100 Body language positions and what they mean
How to use body language to decode people’s true feelings during your conversations with them
Using your body language to build a noticeable connection
