Focus on socialization as exposure that builds a confident, non-reactive puppy by guiding them to focus on you, avoiding dog parks, and choosing three to five predictable dogs and people.
Enhance puppy socialization by guiding them to climb or jump onto items like wood piles, using commands and food to build confidence in new places and strengthen bonding and focus.
Practice socialization by using recall and high-value rewards to keep your puppy focused on you, then end introductions only when your dog is relaxed and calm.
Develop your puppy's socialization and tolerance for handling by touching ears, paws, nails, tail, and teeth to prepare for vet visits or interactions with kids, while staying gentle.
