Description
The informative step-by-step videos in this course will teach you the basic stone setting skills necessary to add gem material to your jewelry designs. Follow along at your own pace and learn how to correctly use the required tools to perform any of five different stone setting operations. These include setting Thin Bezels, Thick Bezels, Tube Settings, Prong Settings and Flush Settings. This is an intermediate course that requires some basic knowledge of jewelry fabrication techniques. This course focuses only on setting stones and does not include information about jewelry fabrication. Each of the technical demonstrations includes an overview of tools as well as a detailed description of the task.

Instructor
Professor John Ahr is the Co-Founder and Host of the Online Jewelry Academy. The OJA has received over 3 million views on YouTube. Prof, Ahr also serves as the Director of the Jewelry Program at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in the heart of the Los Angeles Jewelry District. He took his MFA from California State University, Long Beach in 2000 and has taught at numerous colleges and universities in Southern California.
