Course content

1 section5 lectures1h 18m total length
  • LP Drip Cycle in Thermal Power Plant14:38

Explore the lp drip cycle in a thermal power plant, detailing the low-pressure feedwater heat exchange, condensate drip, pumps a and b, and deaerator reuse to save makeup water.

  • HP Drip Cycle in Thermal Power Plant14:55

Explore the HP drip system in a thermal power plant, including heat exchangers, condensate management, feedwater preheating, and motorized and pneumatic valve arrangements across low to high load regimes.

  • Gland Sealing and Stud and flange heating cycle in Thermal Power Plant11:50

Understand the gland sealing system in a two ten megawatt thermal power plant, preventing steam leakage and air ingress with labyrinth seals, gland steam headers, and an ejector vacuum.

  • HPT- IPT Rotor Heating System in Thermal Power Plant18:23

Learn about the HPT and IPT rotor heating system for steam turbine startups, achieving uniform heating of rotors and casings to prevent distortion and thermal shock, under control room interlocks.

  • HPT IPT Flange and Stud heating system in Thermal Power Plant18:42

Learn how the high-pressure turbine and intermediate-pressure turbine flange and stud heating system safeguards startup by preheating the casing and rotor, reducing thermal stresses and enabling quick, controlled startup.

Description

Hello  Hi dear students

This course is in continuation with last course (Steam Turbine Cycles-I) . There are various cycles /systems in steam turbine area for efficient working of the turbine. There are various auxillaries also which assist the turbine to operate smoothly and effectively so as maximum output can be achieved. So it is important to get idea of Steam turbine cycles along with auxillaries initially as basic things . As I have 31 years of practical experience in Thermal Power Plant, my intension is to explain about various cycles and auxillaries step by step in very simplified way.  As I am getting very good response to various courses, happy to  go ahead with further study material with practical approach.

In this course we are dealing with five more steam turbine cycles namely

1. HP Drip Cycle

2. LP Drip Cycle

3. Gland sealing System

4. HP-IP Rotor Heating system

5. HP-IP Flange and Stud Heating System

With the study of above cycles, you will be getting idea about drip system, heating system,  sealing system etc. employed in turbine area and their purpose, procedure and advantages etc. This study is in line with the Training center teaching to the newly appointed Trainee Engineers. Also useful to mechanical engineers, diploma students for written test / interview. So best of luck and have a nice day ahead. Don't forget to give reviews after completion of the course.

Who this course is for:

  • Engineers seeking job to Thermal Power plant
