Explore boiler auxiliaries, including air heater and induced draft fan, and their role in heat recovery, pulverized coal transport, and flue gas handling in a 210 megawatt thermal power plant.
Explains how coal mills pulverize coal to about 200 mesh, classify fine particles, and deliver them with primary air to the furnace, focusing on ball mill types and their auxiliaries.
A steam boiler is a closed vessel that uses heat from a fuel source to convert water into steam, which is used in various industrial and commercial applications such as heating and power generation. The basic working principle involves the combustion of fuel inside the boiler’s combustion chamber, which produces high-temperature gases that transfer heat energy to the water surrounding the chamber, causing it to boil. Steam boilers come in different types, such as fire-tube and water-tube boilers, and have essential roles in providing heat and steam for various applications. Proper maintenance and adherence to safety protocols are crucial for their efficient and safe operation.
Purpose of Steam Boiler
• For generating power in steam engines or steam turbines
• In process industries for various processes.
• For heating the buildings in cold weather and for producing hot water for hot water supply.
Here we are discussing High pressure Steam Boilers, Their components and auxiliaries based on practical experience gained by in thermal power plant. That is little different than taught in theory / books. My intension is to know how about the Thermal Power plant basics as per site and location wise. This is definitely helpful to Engineering students, Trainee Engineers and those who are facing Competitive exams. Its my sincere effort and wish to share my knowledge to you people as I am getting good response for my other courses on this platform. Hope to keep the same relation and continue to upload much more about Thermal Power Plant in near future also. Best of luck and have a nice day.
Don’t forget to mark ratings on the scale after completion of course.

So, we have studied Steam Boilers / Generators in class or form Books or other sources. You will find this course little different than these available sources. I have focused on actual practical aspects so as to get clear idea and also the difference between theory and practical approach and students / graduates / Trainees get their dought cleared after going through the course. That's my intention / effort to make the subject /topic easier and to gain confidence in the subject.
Thanks for enrolling the course and after completion of the same, don't forget to provide feedback / rating. Thanks.
