Description

Whether you're new to procurement or a procurement ninja, there's always value in learning.

Interestingly procurement is a professional that is often compartmentalised, that is sometimes different teams manage isolated aspects of the journey.

For example in this session; the Discovery stage, it may be performed by senior staff then handed to the procurement team to develop specifications and issue to market, whereas in other companies or government agencies the initial stages may be performed by a business manager who may then engage procurement to follow the process.  Then we have the case where the procurement team will handle all the tasks from the discovery stage right through to contract management.

Regardless of your situation or how your organisation operates, I believe even if you're not directly involved in this stage it's super important to have an understanding to enable you to better manage your component.

This program migrates through the initial stage of procurement.  This is important as it provides critical inputs for the entire procurement journey.  Often poor procurement outcomes are a function of an ineffective discovery stage.

Through this program we will uncover the context to understand things including legislative, policy and governance requirements, as well as how to identify supply and demand characteristics to better shape your procurement.
