Description

This course is intended for learners who would like to achieve a near-American accent. Participants are usually people who are working or have an intention to work in an industry where they need to communicate directly with North American customers. Some people planning to take English exams like IELTS may find this useful too. This course is open to all people who would like to learn techniques on how to pronounce words like a native speaker.

The world is advancing. Industries are now global and are very competitive. Companies now have clients from all over the world and vital to any business is clear communication. One way to achieve this is for employees to have at least a neutral accent. At the end of this course, participants are able to achieve a very understandable way to communicate verbally.

We will basically be focusing on accent, which is a significant component in verbal communication. Achieving an American accent has a number of components to it. One missing component may reduce the effect that one is trying to achieve. Accent includes stress, intonation, blending, and phrasing. English is a tonal language, therefore, speaking with a monotone won't help. You will find out that studying this language is similar to studying music by some counts.

Who this course is for:

  • IELTS takers
  • Business Process Outsourcing applicants
  • anyone aiming to sound more neutral when speaking English
