Master safety in horse handling by staying at the shoulder, turning away to respect your bubble, and reading the horse’s expressions for permission before approaching or putting on gear.
Define your bubble as an invisible safety boundary when handling horses and defend it with energy, cues, and pressure points, keeping you and your horse safe.
Learn to speak the horse language by mastering body language and energy, balancing predator and prey signals, building trust on the ground and in the saddle, and rewarding calm teamwork.
Learn to work with stallions, mares, and geldings by balancing confidence and respect; the alpha is the mare, while stallions test boundaries and geldings vary by personality.
Energy and body language dictate how your horse responds; mindfulness, yoga, and breathing tune your vibe for calmer, more confident riding.
Lead from the shoulder with the 'follow my feet' transitions, guiding walk, stop, and back with forward energy. Stay safe by pivoting, looking ahead, and reading the horse’s cues.
Play the touch with your nose game on and off the horse to switch their brains on, building confidence and trust and expanding curiosity with objects like plastic bags.
Learn to lunge a horse with breathing transitions, focusing on shoulder alignment and energy barrier cues, develop canter and up-down transitions, and safely introduce obstacles like a jump.
Warm up on the buckle by guiding the horse to stretch and relax, reading body language. Practice flexion left and right and a down transition to build relaxation and safety.
Learn air brakes breathing transitions using full-body breathing and engaged abdominal muscles to connect with your horse and deepen your relationship.

Many might be wondering how it is possible for me to work in so many foreign countries and strange lands as an equine professional. I have traveled my fair share, having worked Internationally with horses for the past eleven years in nearly a dozen countries and covering countless states from east to west. Every time I travel to a new country I am thrown into a new mix of languages, cultures, and native dialects. In Italy they speak Italian, in Romania they speak Romanian, Egypt they speak Arabic…you get the point.
Although the humans may speak different languages and practice different religions and customs, there is one thing I’ve learned never changes: The language of the horse. No matter how far my travels have taken me, from the Pyramids to the Taj Mahal, horses speak horse.
Learn the language of the horse, and with it you can travel to the farthest corners of the planet and be able to communicate fluently with all walks of horses. From the Akhal-Teke’s in Turkey to the Marwari’s in India or the Icelandic ponies from Iceland. Communicating with horses is about body language and energy. Once you master the art of understanding your equine friend with your energy and breath, you will find that no matter the type of saddle you ride in or the discipline, you will be able to bond with horses on an energetic and subconscious level. You will hear them whisper. You will feel their movements and body through you. You will know their emotions, their spirit and their voice.
