Learn the bag pattern and follow step-by-step sessions to cut, sew, and rewatch as needed. Gather materials: heavy fabric or backing, 30x30 cm, cotton lining, 50 cm zipper, pins, scissors.
Draft Sophie's bag pattern from a 38 by 28 cm rectangle, add curves and seam allowances, trim a 1 inch corner, and cut four fabric pieces plus four lining pieces.
Fold the fabric, place the pattern on top along the straight grain, and cut outer and lining pieces, plus a pocket and zipper to minimize fabric waste.
Sew the hobo bag by aligning center lines on front and lining, using a 1 cm seam allowance, attaching the zipper with top stitching, and forming pockets.
Finish the hobo bag by closing the side seams at one centimeter, securing the zipper, attaching the handles, and turning the bag inside out to sew the lining.
Finish your hobo bag and explore different sizes and forms to design your own version. Contact me with questions and celebrate the course completion.
In this course you will learn how to construct a hobo bag. First we will make the pattern together, then we will cut the fabric for the bag, and finally we will sew it.
Of course you can change the pattern and take your perfect measurements.
After the course you will be able to modify the pattern and design different shapes and sizes of hobo bags.
Start to try out a few bag shapes and let's begin with our course!
