Proficiency in writing thermochemical equations, especially, formation and combustion equations is a prerequisite for the successful solution of problems from Thermochemistry.

The methods of writing the formation and combustion equations with a clarity of thought and with the help of two simple rules are discussed in the first video. Exercises to practice writing formation and combustion equations are given in the first video

Almost all the problems from Thermochemistry may be separated into 4 main types.

The 4 main types of problems are introduced in the second video.

Type I Problems : Calculation of delta E from delta H and vice versa

Type II Problems : Calculation of enthalpy changes of reactions using bond energy

Type III Problems : Calculation of enthalpy changes of reactions using formation data only

Type IV Problems : Calculation of enthalpy changes of reactions using formation and combustion data

The theory and strategy behind each type of problem are explained clearly right at the start of each video

This will prepare you for the rest of the video, even if you do not have a strong background

In the third video, the method of solving Type I problems are explained in detail. At the end of this video Type I problems are given for practice.
