Description

The SOLIDWORKS PDM Task Add-in Development course from Blue Byte Systems Inc. is a specialized, technical deep-dive designed for developers and automation leads who want to master the art of vault automation. You will build custom task add-ins in C# that run through the SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional task framework.

The course opens with an introduction and a look at the Convert task, then covers system requirements, Visual Studio project templates, and adding the PDM primary interop assemblies as references. You then study GetAddInInfo in detail, take a deep dive into the command manager (CmdMgr), and learn how task hooks work. Along the way you see how partial classes keep a PDM add-in organized, and how to build and register your add-in in the vault.

The second half focuses on making your task configurable and dependable. You debug task add-in hooks, create custom task dialog pages, and persist settings with EdmTaskSetupPage. You use TaskSetupButton to save settings and add commands, then follow the execution flow through TaskLaunch and TaskRun. The course closes with final testing and a deployment strategy for rolling your add-in out.
