Francis Nguyen is a doctoral researcher of intelligent systems for Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. He leads multiple collaborative research-and-development projects to enhance a robust automatic control system for autonomous vehicles.
Taking leadership in Teaching Assistant (TA) positions of increasing responsibility and serving on advisory committees for TA’s union, Francis has developed multiple lab exercises, composed teaching materials, performed course management, and mentored new TAs. In 2016, he was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award in recognition of his contribution to the undergraduate education at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Besides, he has founded and coordinated MUN Engineering Computer-Aided Design Learning Center, which not only supports 100+ students to achieve professional certificates for the job application but also advances their teamwork skills in effective communication and conflict management.
