Here is a little snippet about me:

For the past 20+ years I have worked in a variety of high level technical positions primarily around Macintosh Administration, Development, Security, Technical Troubleshooting, Networking, and Web Development. Currently I hold the position of Lead Sr. Macintosh Engineer for UnitedHealth Group/Optum.  I get to work side by side with an awesome team of Macintosh Engineers, whom I refer to as the ‘Dream Team’.  I love working for UHG/Optum as they truly strive to better peoples lives and it gives me great pride to work towards such a great vision and cause.

I am a father of two amazing girls that I adore immensely. They surprise me each and every day with what they know and the excitement of each new thing they learn. I could not be a more proud father. I have a wonderful wife of almost 20 years that means the world to me and is my rock. She supports me in all my crazy endeavors and drives me to be my best, which I could not be more appreciative to have her by my side. I have been very fortunate to have this family God has given me, including Bosley the Dog.

I am a 2nd Degree Black Belt Instructor for The Art Martial Arts Studio (Mixed Martial Arts), which has opened my eyes to a level of enlightenment and understanding of people and of the world. The world is a beautiful place and sometimes rears its nasty, but how we deal with the beautiful and the nasty defines our character. Working so hard to get my Black Belt and now to have the honor of being a protector for all, is truly life changing. Life is a lot easier when your a Ninja, cause you use that same Warrior mentality in every aspect of your life, thus making what use to seem like a mountain, feel like a speed bump! I highly recommend to all.

This next part I was not sure I was going to share, but I figured since you’re all my students that I better be as open as possible. I get sick a lot throughout the month and might not be able to respond at times, but will do my best. I have a blood condition called ‘Homozygous Familial HyperCholesterolemia’, which is hereditary and was diagnosed when I was 3. I started having a more difficult time handling it as I got older, so I started getting blood treatments down at the U of M Apheresis Clinic a little over 4 years ago and thanks to them I am still alive today and able to continue my awesome career and be a great father and husband.

Thanks for taking the time to read my little snippet, but let’s get down to business and get going on Protecting Your Mac!
