Instructor
Hi, I'm Ana Murphy, an E-RYT® 500 certified yoga instructor. I’ve been teaching yoga and meditation for over 8 years, with a personal practice spanning more than 20 years. My journey with yoga began over 20 years ago, when I found a way to bring balance into my life. With a background in Systems Engineering, I spent long hours in front of a computer, constantly solving technical problems. I realized I needed something more than just physical exercise; I needed something to quiet my mind. Yoga provided the perfect solution, helping me find the balance I was seeking. Through yoga, I quiet my mind while simultaneously moving my body.
However, the reason I practice and teach yoga today has evolved. In October 2014, my son passed away. After his death, I needed more than just balance—I needed peace and, above all, acceptance. Yoga became a way for me to connect with myself, to pause, and to live in the present moment. Through my practice, I go inward, scanning my body, soul, and mind. I become aware of what I am feeling physically and spiritually, and I accept these feelings to find harmony and calm within. I am convinced that yoga and meditation can help anyone overcome obstacles in life, even the loss of a child. This is the gift I want to share with my students.
I love yoga, and I love teaching it. I am a graduate of the CorePower Yoga 200-Hour Teacher Training program, Judith Hanson Lasater's Relax and Renew® Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, and Jason Crandell's 300-Hour Vinyasa Yoga Training. My passion for yoga is something I love to share with my students. I view yoga as a precious gift in my life, and I share this gift with my students in each class.
