This course deals with the understanding of size reduction equipment (jaw crusher, Ball mill, Hammer mill), working principles of these size reduction equipment, construction and working, The detailed explanation about critical speed in the ball mill and different factors that affect the size of the product using ball mill also explained. Different crushing laws, work index,  crushing efficiency, and sphericity. The courses also cover the numericals based on the differnt crushing laws and critical speed of the ball mill. This course also covers the open and close circuit grinding and advantages of close circuit grinnding over open circuit grinding. The course explained the mesh number and sceen alnalysis ( differntial and cummulative)  Also learners able to understand the screening equipment. Mixing and agitation has wide applications in the chemical industry , this course allow the learner to understand the basic differnce between agitation and mixing ,purposes of agitation, agitation vessel,  need of baffle in mixing tank, how to avoid the vortex formation in the unbaffled tank. Different types of impellers and agitators (for axial and radial flow like propellers, anchor agitator, etc. ). This course also covers the mixing power number  and power requiremnet calculation for the impeller. Mixing index and Numerical based on it also expained in this course.
