Modern VoIP environments are complex systems where signaling, media, networking, security and infrastructure all work together in real time. When problems occur, identifying the root cause often requires much more than theoretical SIP knowledge.
This course is designed to teach you how real-world VoIP troubleshooting works in production environments. This course will provide you a knowledge which tools to use to collect and analyze SIP captures and well as how to identify issues by analyzing logs.
In the SIP Analyzing & Troubleshooting Masterclass, you will learn how to analyze SIP communication, troubleshoot RTP and audio problems, understand TLS and secure SIP deployments, and develop a structured troubleshooting methodology used by VoIP engineers every day.
In this course we don't start with the question " What is SIP ? " but with the clear definitions what are SIP requests and responses, also defining the difference between SIP transactions and SIP dialogs.
The course combines theory, practical demonstrations and real packet analysis scenarios to help you understand not only how SIP works, but also how to identify and resolve real VoIP issues.
A major focus of this course is packet analysis and troubleshooting methodology.
You will learn how to:
Capture SIP traffic using tcpdump
Analyze SIP call flows using Wireshark
Troubleshoot SIP dialogs using SNGREP
Use Homer for SIP capture visualization and monitoring
Inspect RTP streams and identify media problems
Analyze TLS handshakes and encrypted SIP communication
Troubleshoot production VoIP issues systematically
Recognize SIP methods: INVITE, OPTIONS, REFER, REGISTER, SUBSCRIBE, NOTIFY and PRACK in logs
This is not a course focused only on theory, we are doing a lot of practical demonstrations
You will work through realistic troubleshooting scenarios and learn how VoIP engineers investigate problems in live environments.
You will learn how to capture, inspect and analyze SIP traffic in real-world scenarios.
