  • Introduction to Singing and Playing Guitar4:34

Have you ever wanted to sing while you play, but just can't seem to get it? It's okay! You are good company because everyone has struggled with this in some way or another. Here is the good news. You most certainly CAN sing and play at the same time with the right kind of practice. How do I know this? Firstly, I used to not be able to do this either, but in time and with the right practice, I learned how. Also, I have taught this same technique to MANY students over several decades. It works 100% of the time IF you do the steps.

This method is a SURE-FIRE way to do both at the same time. Let's dig in!

  • Singing and Playing Step 1 - Take Inventory10:19

When attempting to sing and play a song at the same time, we need to take a conscious inventory of the particular pieces that will be required of us.  For instance:

    Guitar skills:

Chords in the song - memorized

    Strumming pattern

    Chord transitions

    Singing skills:

    Melody

    Lyrics

    Phrasing

Once these individual pieces are consolidated and practiced on their own, bringing them together is going to be a whole lot easier.

  • Singing and Playing Step 2 - Focusing on the Guitar12:55

For this lesson, we will focus on the guitar only.  This is truly the key to doing more than one thing at the same time.  The brain is NOT able to effectively concentrate on more than one thing at a time.  Because of this, we need to focus on ONE thing at a time.  I can't emphasize this enough.  If you are having issues with this or if you are getting frustrated, you are not breaking it down or slowing it down enough.  Slow it down and "enjoy the ride".  The guitar will be our focus at this point.

  • Singing and Playing Step 3 - Focusing on Singing5:36

Similar to what we did in the last lesson, let's NOW focus on the singing part and the singing part ONLY. Try not to get sucked into the mindset that you should be doing this all at the same time already. You are where you are in this continuum. Try not to "wish" that you were in a different place. You are where you are. Practice and application of these principles WILL convert you into a singing guitarist. Trust the process, my friend!

  • Singing and Playing Step 4 (A) - Bringing it all Together - Part 19:43

Let's start bringing all these pieces together. There is a trick to this as well!

  • Singing and Playing Step 4 (B) - Bringing it all Together - Part 210:00

Let's continue the process of bringing all those individual pieces together. Slow and steady...

  • Singing and Playing Step 4 (C) - Bringing it all Together - Part 38:33

Now that we have learned these individual pieces and have sufficiently practiced them on their own, putting them together is going to be a LOT easier. Slow and steady wins this race!

Requirements

  • It’s best to have at least some basic guitar skills and some basic singing skills.

Description

Have you ever wanted to sing and play guitar at the same time? Have you ever attempted such a "feat," only to be frustrated? Have you ever thought that singing and playing guitar simultaneously was a particular skill you had to be born with?

If you answered yes to these questions, you are in the right place, my friend! This course is dedicated solely to resolving this issue. Playing guitar and singing simultaneously is NOT impossible, nor only for a few. It truly is something that ANYone can learn IF they follow the correct steps. This step-by-step course covers this process in detail!

Why This Course Works:

The brain can do things consciously or subconsciously (unconsciously). Whenever we do something new and need to be hyper-focused, like learning to ride a bike or drive a car, we use the CONSCIOUS portion of our brains. When we have done these tasks MANY times, our subconscious brains start to take over. Our conscious brains can ONLY do ONE thing at a time, while our subconscious brains can do many things simultaneously. This course focuses on these concepts and presents a step-by-step system for accomplishing BIG tasks.

I have taught this concept for decades to my one-on-one students and over 750,000 students online. I can teach this to YOU as well.

What You'll Learn:

- Step-by-Step Process: Detailed instructions to help you master singing and playing guitar simultaneously.

- Brain Training Techniques: Understand how to train your brain to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Practical Exercises: step-by-step exercises to reinforce learning and build muscle memory.
