The simulation hypothesis has been popularized by movies such as The Matrix.
This topic has also been popularized by philosopher Nick Bostrom in the early 2000s.
A few years ago, in 2016, the topic has also become popular due to Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, who said he believes that the chances we are living in base reality are one in billions. In other words, he believes that there is a very high chance that we are living in a computer simulation.
