This lesson is all about making sure you have all the tools and equipment you’ll need to create your first seascape painting.
We will be covering the paints, brushes, painting surface and all the other bits and pieces that you will need for this course. It won’t take very long and you will be ready to dive in and start painting in the next chapter.
Blend and transition colours seamlessly to create a colour gradient that will form the foundation of your seascape painting.
Adding essential elements is the second step in my 4 step process. In the case of the simple seascape, that means adding some waves.
Blocking in the basic shapes and colours of the waves before fine-tuning the details will save a lot of repainting over mistakes. Once the waves have been placed on the canvas we can start to make them look more 3-dimensional, that is show their form with some light and shade.
Zoom in on the finer details as we paint the foam in the shore wash, making it appear to float above the sand.
You will more than likely find this to be the most challenging part of your seascape painting so extra attention has been given to this subject.
Small finishing touches are what will turn your painting from a nice picture into an impressive work of art.
The techniques in this lesson will not only give your painting a wow factor and come in very handy for any larger, more detailed seascape paintings you may want to create in the future.
Your next step to improving your painting skills will depend on how you like to learn. Whichever way that is, I have a recommendation that will take your artistic skills to the next level.
