Description

Welcome to our comprehensive course on Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), a genetic disorder that affects millions of people worldwide. This course aims to provide you with an understanding of this condition, its general information, signs and symptoms, treatment options, and diagnosis. Our primary goal is to increase awareness and knowledge about SCD, promoting a better understanding of the challenges faced by those living with the disease.

Modes of Learning

To enhance your learning experience, we have incorporated four informative videos, each corresponding to the four modules. These videos will present the course content in an engaging and easily digestible format. After watching each video, you will have the opportunity to test your understanding through a quiz. Each quiz consists of ten multiple-choice or true/false questions, designed to assess your comprehension of the material presented in the videos.

By completing this course, you will be equipped with valuable knowledge that can help you support individuals living with the disease and contribute to greater understanding and empathy in society.

Join us on this educational journey to expand your awareness of Sickle Cell Disease and make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by it. Together, we can foster a more informed and compassionate community, empowering individuals to live better lives with Sickle Cell Disease.

This course was made as a learning tool for Lehigh University's Global Social Impact Fellowship Program where we aim to educate and diagnose Sickle Cell Disease. We use these resources in-country when we travel to Sierra Leone every year.
