This Lecture Will be just an overview of the Course and what we'll be dealing with during the Process of analyzing and designing our structure, how to Execute plans, and all depend on the company you work with but in the end it is all the same steps but some minor differences that doesn't effect the actual design.
Project .DWG is attached to this lecture so you can download it and follow me step by step through out the Course.
In this Lecture i will go through the Files, Drawings that we'll use in our course for the analysis and design. explain each one of them and how to use them, When to use them and most commonly used ones.

First of All distributing Columns in any structure depends on a lot of points such as :
if the structure have a stone face or not ( you need to keep that in mind due to the stone is 5cm and has a Concrete behind it with 5cm)
interior or exterior column
structure type (usage) if its a mall of halls or hospitals you need to use spiral columns.
I will be using 25*50 interior column and 20*50 exterior column
edges of the Structure must have a columns
mainly distributing columns is crucial just to avoid making too long spans and avoid heavy reinforcement.
This Lecture will be about axis X-direction and Y-Direction and how to draw axis
as in the previous lecture we distributed columns we tried to make them align in both side just to make it easier to be constructed
and so here in axis to be easy to do them
if your column is not touching X and Y axis in the same time you need to place a dimension for that column.
Determining the slab major direction depends on how you distributed your columns in the first place.
which is not that hard. but by practice you will be able to do it easily.

In this lecture I will be drawing slab Beams, Ribs, Double Ribs, and Drop beams using AutoCAD and the two methods that are used to draw ribs.

Slab/Beams and Columns Sections
In this lecture we will be doing full analysis for the beams drawn in the slab, using PROKON V3.
and as i mentioned earlier i do recommend you to check out my course on how to design with PROKON for detailed information and how to properly use it, but if you're not interested in that topic you can just watch how to design beams.
how to check deflection and how to get reactions for Footings design.
In this Lecture we will be drawing a beam using AutoCAD according to the reinforcement we got from PROKON, then filling the Beam rebar Schedule accordingly.
This Lecture is optional and you can skip it if you want.
i will be doing full analysis of Beam 5 using PROKON and then drop the reinforcement in AutoCAD Plan
This Lecture is a heavy one due to it's importance, But Please Watch the whole lecture in order to get the design very well.
Topics will be included in this lecture
Types of Footing
Designing Foundation using Excel Sheet
Designing Foundation using PROKON
When to use Strip Footing (Continuous Footing)
How to draw Footing on the Footing Plan
Tie Beams and how to draw them
Reinforcing Footings
This Lecture will show you how to use PROKON in order to get Footing Reinforcement and how to make sure its safe and valid for the given load acting on it
This Lecter will go through the Plans and how to place them in order to be used in construction
This Lecture is for you to see if you have benefited from the course and improved your skills.
The Structure is a ( 2 Villas) separated by a gap of 60 cm between them.
Notes to help you design
Slab Thickness = 25cm
Beams to use = 60cm/80cm (exterior/interior) Respectively
Bearing Capacity of soil = 150
4 stone faces of the Structure
Hint:
use shear walls on the walls between the two structures
This Course will have a short videos so you can fully understand each lecture and have the time to practice what you've learnt each lecture.
As for the course we will be Designing a simple Structure with 2 Floors with Roof.
Starting out with the Architectural Plans understanding how to distribute Columns and how to choose the columns dimensions.
as For Prokon you will learn some info as we go through the lectures
Basic Information on each Member.
Basic Members and Reactions Calculation.
How to eliminate any Beam Deflection.
How to Reinforce and read the Deflection, and determine if its safe of not.
as for AutoCAD you will learn the Following.
Fully detail each member , ready to be handed for construction.
Shop drawing.
AutoCAD Hotkeys and key binds
How to draw and Execute Structural Plans for the Structure we're designing.
I will Attach 3 AutoCAD Files (.DWG) for you to try it out for your self and i will attach the file that we'll work on plus the files for Prokon for you to fully understand it yourself and ask me if you have any problems with it.
Some of the members is considered as a template member such as the Staircases and water tanks Which will not be cover it in this course.
I would recommend you that you have the minimum information about AutoCAD and Prokon in order to keep up with the Lectures.
(Note to keep) : All Design Files and drawings are included and will be easy to access For Lifetime (you can use them in your projects or your career.
I will attach a Simple Structure for you to try it out yourself and have me look on it when you finish so you can be confident in what you have designed.
Simple Note for any Civil Engineer that have the Passion to Be a Structural Designing Engineer, Start improving your skills in Designing softwares DO NOT WAIT. (AutoCAD is your Friend).
I will be using AutoCAD 2017 and PROKON v.3, any version will do the job for you.
